Swipewipe: Photo Cleaner
Ratings & Reviews
i usually dont write reviews ever unless i absolutely hate it but i wanted to add one on here bcs theres so many bs and virus cleaning apps that i wanted to mention how this is the best one you can literally get. 🔒(and sorry for the big paragraph but i’d want someone to explain the whole app to me this way too.)of course theres options to pay, but thats generally just if you want to update your plan. basically there are sections of photos for each month lets say you have 100 photos in January, and then 57 in February. its all separated in sections. then you can swipe left or right to delete or keep which is so simple and easy. it also shows at the top how may photos you have until you’ve cleaned out the whole month. there are also options like, “on this day” which shows you photos you took on that exact day and other years. or another one that just lets you pick 20 photos to delete. and theres also a main section where you can just pick from albums. PLEASE keep in mind that they do have limits. once you hit the end of an album there is a 8 hour limit to do another. sometimes it bugs so you can work around that. BUT if you really dont like the limit and cant wait there usually is a button to watch an ad. but anyways thats honestly it. if theres any bugs with your app when you get it just delete it or contact them. its literally free. its so easy and ill honestly never regret downloading it.
This app is so good. It literally helped me so much. My storage was so full. It only took me less than 10 minutes to go through most of them. It’s so good. I would recommend you getting it. It’s the best app I’ve probably ever use no money and no ads. This is probably the only app I have ever used without having one single struggle. I love this app so much it helps me a lot and it’s so much fun. I literally do it every day and. So much things you can see in your camera roll that you haven’t seen for a long time when you start you can sometimes pass by some good photos that are really deep in your camera roll that you forgot about you can also save those it’s just such a good app. It brings all the photos I used to have or I had them, but haven’t seen them for a while I love this app so much. I would recommend you guys getting it five star.Loveeee🤗🤗🤗😍😍😍 it has so many explanations, and it helps with the date, so you know what photo was from what day and stuff I literally can say so much good things about this app I love it so much. I had to write this and put a five star all you have to do is swipe left to delete it right to keep I finally get to go without any warnings with my storage or any struggles so you should really download this.
This app is amazing. I’ve had it for maybe a year now and use it almost daily. I’ve deleted I think 4000 things total. The thing that made it so easy for me was the swipe feature that they got rid of last week. Mine didn’t update until I guess yesterday because today is the first day it’s been in a “feed” setup. I don’t like it at all but I can see the appeal for some people. With that being said, PLEASE make the old setup for “on this day” an option to still have. Maybe the default can be feed, but if you tap on one of the photos/videos, it switches back into the swipe modeReally the only other things I have to say is that when we bookmark stuff it would be nice for it to swipe out of the way on its own instead of still having to choose to keep or delete. An option to speed up videos a little bit would also be really handy. I don’t know if this would be possible, but if you can, it would be really cool to add the option to edit a video or picture. I have many videos I don’t want to delete, they just need to be trimmed and I know that I’m not going to go into my gallery and find it to trim it later lolOverall this is a GREAT app for chipping away at a messy gallery like mine. The premium isn’t a crazy amount in my opinion. $40 for a YEAR isn’t bad at all, but if you don’t want to pay that it really isn’t necessary. Now a days I just use the “on this day” feature so I’ll probably cancel the subscription, but it really is worth it especially when you first start using this app
This app is honestly pretty amazing, I found it while looking for ways to clear up space on my phone having wayyy too many pictures and found it to be a fun and efficient way to clean up some space and get rid of photos i don't need. The only issue - and why i didn't give it 5 full stars instead of the four i did - was the wait between months to look through as a free user. The app categorizes photos by month, and every time you complete a month it makes you wait a little before going through photos of the next month in time. But the catch is that you only wait a little the first few months you do, each time you finish a month you have to wait an hour longer than you did for the previous one. Waited three hours between April and May? Now wait four between May and June. Seven hours between October and November, well here's an eight hour wait for December! I think it would make sense for it to be a fixed time even if it was like 6 hours or something I'd be more understanding than this, having a camera roll that is years long i'll be having to wait multiple days at some point if I want to keep going which is really difficult, especially because doing the app is actually really fun so it makes me want to clean my camera roll faster. Anyways that's why it's near perfect and hope they will consider changing it to a fixed time, otherwise totally recommend!
The amount of advertised apps to help clean up your camera roll, this one is what users have been looking for! Instead of treating your camera roll like an algorithm or repeated images, this is YOU finding the time to sort through years worth of photos in a format that we’re familiar with and is entertaining. My only complaint is loading. Images, when swiping after a few minutes, get blurry and the operation system starts getting slow. At times Ive had it malfunction where I have to close and reopen the app but the positive note is even if you have to do that- it pretty much automatically saves the progress and you can start where you left off. The only other feature I wish it allowed is where you can see a month worth of photos in its entire album- not just slides. For instance, I bookmarked a lot of videos I reviewed because they were long and needed more attention than I was willing to set aside for a swipe through. When I went to look at them, bookmarks are in the same format as everything else, swiping. I wish there was a way to look at it all at once. Not just one at a time. Besides the malfunctioning and slow load time for photos, it’s still one of the best apps Ive seen for the task at hand. I will say, that the more images you have the slower it will likely run especially if your storage is also on icloud - pretty sure thats the problem Im having.
$10 a week?? A weeeekk??? TEN DOLLARS A WEEK? I get it. But I don’t. The thing is- a lot of people use this app because they can’t find much time, patience, they forget, or if anything like me procrastinate and probably have adhd and get too side tracked when cleaning out their photos for more storage. And again- I emphasize- a lot of people FORGET about it. I feel like it is yes a great approach to get space cleared out easily, helps make decision making much better BUT it’s a money grab. The creators of this app knew this going into the pricing. They think- it’s only $10. But- it’s $10 a week and for those who forget and put it off it’s a lot of money and adds up quite quicky. $10 is nearly half a tank of gas for me. Put it in a perspective like that and it’s a lot. Half a tank of gas takes you a long distance. Just a suggestion- if you wanna keep customers who continue to use this often and frequently especially if we use our phones for our work a lot like me- I’m a photographer so I constantly have to go through and delete the undesired photos often or they will take up all of my space, but I don’t think it should be worth $40 a month. Try $15 a month and you’ll get a lot more people who keep the subscription.
Seems like a good idea in hindsight, but it’s the money thirsting where they really get you. I like the idea of the app and being able to choose what photos to keep and delete instead of going through your camera roll is an awesome idea, but I wish it wasn’t such a money grab. For 10 dollars a week I would rather go through my camera roll and just delete photos. Maybe if it was cheaper or ten dollars for a month or something better like that I would pay, because the app is really cool and a good idea, but paying that much is just not defendable just to delete photos, when there’s a much bigger second option. Besides that, I wouldn’t pay 10 dollars a week for a glitchy app. I go to a month and it gives me 13 billion ads and no photos then says I’m done and keeps all of them? And if I want to actually go through them how the app says it works (aka the whole point of the app) I have to tap each one and say keep or delete individually. What??? And for people like me that don’t take a lot of photos, one month is like 10 photos and I would rather go through my camera roll than go through the 10 photos and have to wait 8 hours to go through more. Anyways, I just don’t think the subscription is justifiable for the app when you can go through your camera roll for free. Maybe it saves you 1 minute but it’s not worth it unless you take a gazillion photos and are very patient. Cool idea though

This is a really good app by far it really does help declutter a lot of unnecessary things I’ve saved in the past or just things i forgot to delete it might be a little time-consuming, but trust me this app really does work to help you clear up space in your phone because personally that was my biggest problem not clearing up space in my phone because I didn’t have enough space in my phone to basically do what I want to do or watch what I want to watch and then I couldn’t save certain videos from TikTok because then they said you know that there’s too much overload of data but most of our phone being backed up is because of our photos and the videos that we have so I think it’s best that you kind of really just get off your phone and stuff but not meaning to yap seriously it’s a good app. I get a four out of five. The only thing I don’t like or that I’m not quite fond of when it comes to this app is having to wait eight hours until you can do the next like deletion process. I feel like it should be like you have to wait for two hours and then you can do the next deletion process because if you’re really just trying to clear out your phone today, then you could really help you out, but other than that, I don’t really have a problem with it
UPDATE: bumping down to three stars from five. The swipe feature has been removed from the On This Day feed. Huh? That’s quite literally the only function I use with the app. Quickly swiping or wiping in OTD has been the fastest and most efficient way to simultaneously see past media AND get rid of unwanted items. I’ll hold on to the app in hopes that feature returns but if it doesn’t I’m afraid I’ll have to find another option. **********I’ve been scouring the App Store since the iPhone 4 (the best iPhone let’s be honest) for an app like this to clean up my photos. Why oh why is there not something like this built into iOS? Answer me that? Swipewipe is an extremely simple, elegant and beautifully designed app that, get this, makes removing unwanted photos FUN to remove. There’s no bloat and no extra “features” like Google Photos. And the way they implement makes it easy to see progress. The on this day section is a delight and the main way I delete photos. 1-2 minutes a day and you’ll have a cleaner library. The only minor gripe — and it’s really not much of a gripe — is there’s no option to change the app icon. Not a huge fan of the icon color but that’s a personal preference, and a nice to have, more than anything.

This app showed you a wrap up of 2024 and all the years passed. Really, you are better off looking through photos to organize and making albums to categorize. This is just as efficient as taking something some people don’t and some people do like, and adding a cool visuals effect to the process. It’s not fun. I am way more efficient by using the photos app and going through my camera roll. I don’t want to be someone to ruin this app’s reviews but it is not worth your time. I can get up to one hundred times more efficient self made methods to clean my photos. The app only lets you delete 20 photos at a time, at most. If you go through your camera roll and if you can spare ten to twenty minutes of time and a little bit of battery life you can get rid of up to 500 photos. That’s what I did in twenty minutes and u didn’t even think about touching this app because of how inefficient it is. I can barely get rid of storage with this app and would much rather prefer using the photos app. Now, I am a photo hoarder. I love everything and usually like having multiple copies of each picture. The way this app presents pictures makes me delete less pictures. If you don’t want your bills going up for storage each month, use your photos app. If you think I am petty for this, I am representing a lot of people who have attachment to photos. It’s also quicker to find photos you don’t like and delete them through photos instead of doing twenty photos individually. Little tip for you is if you run your finger over a group of photos you don’t like in photos you can delete them quicker. Overall this app is a waste of time and space and you should just use photos.
Developer ResponseHi there,Thank you for your detailed feedback on Swipewipe. I understand your concerns about the app's efficiency and the limitations on photo deletion. Our goal is to provide a unique way to manage photos, but I appreciate that it may not suit everyone's needs. The 20-photo limit is designed to encourage thoughtful curation, but I see how it can feel restrictive. We’re always looking for ways to improve, and your insights are invaluable. If you have any specific suggestions or further thoughts, please feel free to reach out at hey@swipewipe.app. Thanks again for sharing your experience!Best, Mau
