Join Spike in this new space adventure in which he must travel through 27 missions in order to reach his destiny. Each mission will require the use of special skills to find and complete all the words found in deep space.

In each mission you will have to find and join syllables to complete all the words and finish the task. But beware new and different challenges await. Time may run out, moves may be counted or correct order must be followed, thankfully Spike has left green marks to help you follow the correct path.

A black hole may appear in some missions and swallow words if they are not completed in time, so stay on your toes and concentrate to finish the missions. Thankfully Spike has also created a practice environment in which you will able to create your own mission and gain skills to complete levels.

Syllable Word Search uses a unique memory card game and word search style game, that challenges players to form words by searching for syllables. Each of the 27 levels in Syllable Word Search provides increasing challenges to players.

The player must complete a level before proceeding to the next. Levels become more challenging as the player advances through the game: the list of words increases, words are presented by topics, 2 to 6 syllable words are introduced, green cards are no longer available, duplicate syllables are presented on the board, among many other challenges.

For advance players, Syllable Word Search has the option to create your own mission. In this option the player selects the characteristics and complexity of the board.

This upgrade is to support the newest iOS with no problem and best of all, you can still use it in your classroom as last 10 years ago!

Technical difficulties

If you want a smaller square, with less visual distraction, your only choice is to play with the “animal” category of words - even if you select the “easy” category, it switches to a large screen with too many options for younger players (like my 9 year old). And even with the smaller squares, the first level starts you off on very difficult words such as “cephalopod”. Would be a great app if you could choose the number of syllables, and if you could use all the categories of words instead of just animals. The robotic voice is also not great - what would be great is if each syllable was voiced when it was chosen - then I could see this as an excellent app to develop the skills needed to read multisyllabic words.

Thanks a lot for your feedback.
1) I think you enter directly Create Mission section, maybe if you just press the play button you enter through easier games.
2) To select the number of syllables or category sounds fun. Will try to add that in one of the next versions.
3) About robotic voice, we used the voice integrated into devices but we will research to improve that.

Print is too small

Print on this app is too small for some students. There are too many things on the page very visually distracting. It would be nice to be able to set the level of words from two syllables on up.

Thank you for your feedback. Maybe for some iPhone or iPod devices de print size seems small, the print size on the iPad is much bigger. The first levels of the game are the ones that contain words with two or three syllables as you increase the levels the words become more challenging.

Very clever and creative word search game!

I’ve never seen a word search game like this, very clever and creative. The interface is easy to navigate and its easy and fun to play!
