Sync - Secure cloud storage 4+

This is a great cloud storage alternative to services like Google Drive and OneDrive, which don't encrypt your files at rest. I've only used the free tier thus far to test it out, and I haven't experienced any syncing issues or any other problems. Also yes, it seems like the app's crashing issues have been resolved. Of course no one will bother to leave an updated review to acknowledge that. The last review before this one was posted in March and there have been several updates since then. If I do experience crashing issues, I'll leave another review and say so.

It has been very frustrating trying to use this app. Whenever I want to upload something from a browser, like a PDF receipt after purchasing something, and I try to upload to sync, it fails immediately. I have to hit retry and sometimes it works and sometimes it just crashes the app. This has been doing this for so long. It happens every time I try to upload something. Also, when I add a new file to my main sync folder, it never shows up under the recent tab, I have to go digging for it under all of the folders that stay on top on the files tab. This is so frustrating! The upload and sync speeds are also really dreadful and painful. I have been trying to use Sync for business and when I send private secure links to people to open, it’s always a hassle. A simple PDF file takes forever to load. I hope you guys upgrade your servers so you can offer better speeds and I really hope you fix the app issues. It’s painful. I want to keep supporting your company please fix these things! Thanks.

IPads and iOS is not this company’s focus at all, nor is usability. They play the “security” card as a reason for all the missing features. They have only done a single feature update in a year and it was a small viewing change! Nothing exciting.

They have yet to even integrate some of the great feature of iOS 12, i.e. files app integration. Nothing for 13. They barely works with the files app built into iOS. You will usually find you have to open the app to make it usable.

The offline files are often not offline and have to be redownloaded, I have run into this numerous times and reported it to no avail.

If you view the version history you will see only bug fixes month after month, and this bug has existed for 2 years! You also can’t stream video’s from the app like ANY other file syncing software. You will have to download it outside the app to stream it to a appleTV or other device.

Essentially anything modification or use of a file will require you to save it outside the app, locally or another sync app, and then put it back if you make any changes.

This app is a shame, they could have good privacy and a good app, but they have decent privacy, which is not difficult to implement, and an awful user experience. They are not worth the money. Find another app, I am looking for one now after using them for over 2 years I have finally just given up hope they will get better.
