Taiwanese, also known as Taiwanese Hokkien, Tâi-oân-oē, or Tâi-gí is the Hokkien dialect of Southern Min (Min-nan). Taiwanese is one of several languages spoken in Taiwan, in addition to Mandarin.

This dictionary contains 41882 entries of Taiwanese words and phrases translated in both English and Chinese. You can search the dictionary using Taiwanese, English or Traditional Chinese.

You can search for whole or partial words that either begin with or contain your search text.

All the Taiwanese words in this dictionary are romanized using Peh-ōe-jī. You can also view the dictionary using other writing systems, including: Peh-ōe-jī, Tâi-lô, DT (Daī-ghî tōng-iōng pīng-im), Zhuyin (Extended Bopomofo), and IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet).

Great resource, but needs audio

I'm trying to learn Taiwanese to be able to communicate with my grandparents better, and this dictionary has really helped! However, I wish the entries came with an audio for pronounciation for the intonations, which aren't easy to pick up from just reading.

真的非常感謝，幫我一個大忙，能夠真正將一些英文翻成臺灣繁體中文真正的意思，只是有些小部份需要加強，例如注音、某些字較平常的使用等，但已經比google translate 好很多了！

It no longer works with the current iOS

When I tried to install this app, I got a warning from my iPhone saying the developer of this app needs to update the app to be compatible with the current iOS. I tried to go to its website but it showed that the server no longer existed. What a pity.:(
