الوصف

Taptic turns audio alerts into tactile vibrations and flashlight alerts on your phone. Certain vibration patterns and/or flashing light patterns are assigned to unique everyday sounds to help Deaf and Hard of Hearing people feel and see alerts instead of hearing them. For example, if a Deaf person’s doorbell rings at home, Taptic detects it and vibrates to a bzz bzz or a flash flash. Alternatively, if the washing machine cycle finishes, Tapatic vibrates to a bzz bzzz or a flash flaasshh. We leverage audio detection technology to help people be more spatially aware and self-supported in important situations. Taptic offers a customizable and adaptable experience for sound recognition. Users can create personalized vibration patterns for any sound. Focus modes filter out unwanted noise in specific environments, ensuring crucial alerts reach them without distractions. Taptic leverages existing smartphone technology for affordability and accessibility. We provide an alternative to expensive flashing appliances.

APValerius ،

Well-built, versatile app for the DHH

I have auditory processing disorder. I wish there was a way for the 2-way conversation feature in this app to allow for keyboards on both ends of the screen for parties to type back & forth. I notice on my iPad that the 2-way conversation feature only fills 1/3 of the screen, making the text quite tiny. If someone is verbalizing to me, this app will transcribe, but then when I type back it has no text-to-speech feature.

As for home sounds/alarm sounds, that’s a feature I personally don’t need. I can hear sounds in general. I just neurologically have limited speech comprehension.

Endless Song ،

Needs some work

Has potential. But: 1) There’s text missing in the Privacy section of the Settings. 2) No obvious or intuitive instructions. For Deaf folks you’d want a captioned video explaining how to use it, too. We didn’t know what to do.
The text feature is useful. Reminds us of the Ubi Duo device but on your phone.
