  • Easy app…but not easy to get a Tasker to actually show up

    I used TaskRabbit successfully for several tasks a couple of years ago. After that, I started having trouble with getting the Taskers to actually complete the task. I’d book them, and then a day or so before they were supposed to show up, they’d cancel. I’d book another tasker. They’d cancel, too. I saw on a discussion forum on Quora that many others have had the same issue. I’m giving this app one more try. If this Tasker cancels on me, I’m done.

  • “Cancellation fee” for them not being able to complete the task

    This app is absolutely insane. I was charged a $90 cancelation fee for a task that my tasked blatantly said he was unable to complete. I did not choose him. I was assigned a tasked, explained the task in chat, he said he could not do it, so we cancelled. And I was charged a fee for what? Messaging someone in an app and being told they weren’t capable of the task I thoroughly described when booking it? This policy is absolutely insane. They offered me a credit, but why would I want to risk trying to hire another person just to be told they can’t do it either? The tasker did not even come to my house! He made nearly $100 from me to have a two message chat exchange where he said he couldn’t complete the job. Extortionate beyond belief.Also Bruce the customer service person was condescending and completely unhelpful.

  • Buggy and taskerd can cancel w/o penalty

    This app runs poorly on an iPhone It tries to retrieve a password then doesn’t let the user type it in. Freezes and the website is better. Also Taskers that don’t post a minimum in there profile can be booked and then can tell the requester in text on the app that they have a minimum at the last minute leaving you with no Tasker or twice the bill. Sent 5 messages to customer service and zero response.

    There has to be something wrong with the app: I reset my password four times and each time it would not let me log in (and I would triple check each time that I was entering it correctly, even using the Apple password feature to make sure). Also, each time you look for dashers it makes you reenter your address… wholly annoying and unnecessary (I actually can’t think of another company that makes you do that).

    I’ve been on this app for years and only use when necessary. That being said, the app has changed, it’s no longer communicate with tasker before booking, you have to book, get charged then wait for the tasker to decide if they want to take on the task. I’ve been trying to book a tasker for 3 weeks now, well ahead of time, like 3-4 days out. To only find the day of that the task I need to book with someone else that isn’t available. Deleting my account and finding a different app!

  • Charged for a Task That Was Never Done

    TaskRabbit has been a huge disappointment. They assigned me a rude Tasker who refused to do the job, made excuses about parking (even though there was plenty), and told me over the phone to cancel the task myself, saying I wouldn’t be charged. I did—and still got charged. Support takes 2–3 days to respond and now wants proof, even though everything happened over a phone call. It’s been nearly a month with no refund. Terrible customer service. I won’t be using this app again.
