Poster child for screwing up an app

There has to be some ulterior motive for screwing up an app this bad! Seriously, from changes to layout, to number of clicks to get the same information and the previous app to ease of logging on. To screw up an app this bad HAD to be on purpose because there is no way anyone could after spending two minutes trying to navigate this update and think “wow, this is so much better than the previous version”. You would think the previous version of the app WAS the update from this one. It so bad if I did not like my agent so much I would close my accountant move it somewhere else. I went from in 30 seconds being able to check stocks and see how my portfolio was doing to having to click back and fourth between pages and still not getting half the information the old app gave me.

Reset and go back to the old layout!!! But again, anyone who thinks this version of the app is an improvement is not inelegant enough to respond to what their customers want.

Wembely ,

Now shows + or - “infinity symbol” for all mutual funds

Update! I called their customer support again, and they literally told me don’t use the app they’re advising people to just login from their phones onto the website because that gives you better, not perfect, but better information. They have completely abandoned this app and told me it’s going to be months before they get anything working again. What a joke! I’m moving my money to Schwab who seems to know what they’re doing from an app standpoint.

Old review: So TD Ameritrade has somehow broken the back end of this app. For the last few weeks anything that is not a stock or an ETF now shows change from the day before either as “plus infinity” or “minus infinity”. Stocks and ETFs are showing correctly.

I called support, they claim they are aware that there is an issue, but they appear to be in no hurry to correct it. Seems like TD Ameritrade is really not that interested in supporting smart phones or mobile apps. Maybe they’re too busy counting their money.

Fffffffffffffttttttttttt ,

I just need to use my laptop now...

Why take away functionality with this recent update? Now I have to click line by line on each holding I have in order to see data about gains and losses on those specific holdings on any timeframe greater than a day. There doesn’t appear to be any way to refresh data once you are on a screen either, so the live quotes don’t really mean much anymore. This app should have the ability to view your accounts like it’s a statement... a clear view of average cost, day gain and total gain all on the same screen for each account. The old version kind of did this without rounding percentages (why on earth would you want to be less accurate!?).

I get that this version may work “smoother” on iOS than the previous version, but you did away with the clear information that I want to get quickly when using the app making it pretty much useless.
