See what real fans have said in our 5-star app reviews:

• "This app is great, 9 times out of 10 I get updates from BR before the ESPN app."

• “Wow - I'm just blown away by how good this is! The stream is awesome, and the breaking news is dead on. So much better than trying to follow multiple teams on ESPN. NICE JOB FELLAS!”

• “SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!! - As soon as I got the app and added my local team, I got breaking news from my team before they broke the news on a local sports talk radio that I listen at work every day. From that moment I fell in love with the app!!! Awesome app, I recommend it to every sports fan!!!!!”

• “Great app - Instead of having to go to multiple sites, I get a quick fix on my favorite teams with just this one.”

• Awesome! - Best sports app there is! I love the team feature. I used to watch espn daily but now with this app I haven't watched in over two weeks. All the news is fast and to the minute. Bye-bye espn.

• “Perfect - Get all your local teams big news in your notification center. How awesome!!!!!”

• “Great App!! - This app is very useful for breaking news and interesting tidbits from my teams. Being separated from home sports city makes it tough to get a ton of info on just a couple teams I want to follow, better than twitter only sports related updates.”

good, and still a ways to go

b/r is obviously a must for a sports fan. but there are a few things i wish it had. my main thing is the articles. most of the time the articles b/r includes under your favorite teams are sourced from other publications. that’s not a problem at all, i just really hate clicking to read one and being taken to another website, being subjected to that site’s cookies, ads, etc. kinda annoying. if i’m not mistaken, back in the day b/r would get those same articles but present them to you from within the format of the b/r app. i don’t doubt that the reason they stopped doing this was due to some legalities or deals made with publishers in order to continue using their content, but i’ve definitely not clicked on some articles before when i know the publication’s site that it will lead me to will be a hassle to navigate through.

also, on a much less serious note (i’ve been crying about this forever) i wish they adopted a night mode on their app. so many times before bed i open b/r and i just wish there was a darker interface option so i wouldn’t have to have that white background reflecting on my face.

i do enjoy that b/r is implementing social media features into their app—that experience has been fun. although b/r has been around for a minute now, i still see a lot potential for this app. i feel like they’ll ultimately get there, just at a bit of snail’s pace.

App crashes in 5 seconds, used be decent

I’ve been using this app for over 2 years, and it’s definitely one of my favorites. However, this app has been terrible as of late. First of all, I got banned for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON at over 200 followers. I literally never commented anything remotely bad or against TOS, but I got banned with no notice or reason. I tried contacting customer service, but they never responded. So, slightly discouraged, I created a new account. I grew this account to over 500 followers, and BAM, out of nowhere I’m banned again. Once more, I never commented anything that could be even close to something I could be banned for. I’m not sure what the deal is, but getting banned for no reason, and given no explanation is just dumb. So, after getting banned twice, I created an account again, but I only use it for viewing, I never comment anything. Its been a month, but haven’t been banned yet.

But the thing that prompted me to write this review wasn’t that. Ever since I got the iPhone 12 (the app did occasionally crash on my old iPhone, it was manageable) THE APP LITERALLY CRASHING 5 SECONDS AFTER OPENING EVERY SINGLE TIME. I’m about to delete the app since it is unusable, and incredibly frustrating. I would really love you be able to use the app, but I simply can’t. If this was a small bug on the new phones, it would have already been fixed by now. What is the deal BR?

Great if you want to read ads

This app is littered with pop up ads. Every time I click on (this review is being interrupted by a simulated pop up ad) an article to read I am either interrupted or prompted to pay for a subscribed (this review is being interrupted by a simulated pop up ad) service. While the app in principle covers many (this review is being interrupted by a simulated pop up ad) sports and allows you to follow your favorite (this review is being interrupted by a simulated pop up ad) teams, even setting priorities for your news feed, you’re better off just (this review is being interrupted by a simulated pop up ad) reading the headlines and checking scores, both of which can (this review is being interrupted by a simulated pop up ad) be found in an sport-official app such as MLB app and others. App also links a lot of content (this review is being interrupted by a simulated pop up ad) to Twitter, and if I wanted to use Twitter I’d just (this review is being interrupted by a simulated pop up ad is this annoying yet? Yeah I bet. And so is the app when it does it get the picture?) reactivate my Twitter account and participate that way. At least Twitter has (this review is being interrupted by a simulated pop up ad and you thought I was done) an ad blocker. In other words, for complete stories use other apps otherwise risk being (this review is being interrupted by a simulated pop up ad)...
