What’s changed?

I wasn’t really having any issues with this app until about three weeks ago. I can no longer screen mirror from my iPad to my Roku device. There’s sound but no video. I submitted a ticket to support at that time and never heard back and it hasn’t been fixed. The only way it’ll work is if I download the episodes first. It’s very frustrating. I really wish the app was available through the store on Roku so I could watch it on a bigger screen. Because of this, I don’t use the app often though I pay for a monthly subscription. Please fix this!

Subtitles

I am a subscriber of tencent and l love this app. There is just one thing that l would like to ask the developer of this app. That is if they read their review.
I’m asian but not chinese so subtitles in English is very important to me. Can you please not cover the subtitles when pausing by showing the number of episodes? Some of us are slow reader and sometimes the subtitles run so fast that l cannot catch up with the dialogue. I am 68 years old so sometimes I cannot catch up. If l pause, the subtitles are overlap by the number of episodes. Because of this issue, If the drama is showing in VIKI l usually watch it from Viki because l can pause and read the dialogue and then continue watch the drama.
I hope you would take note of this and will make some changes. Thank you.

Beware VIP membership

I used to love this app. Great content. Worked just fine. Even signed up for vip membership. I would have given it four stars just because there are some clunky bits. But sometime in the last few months it stopped recognizing me as a vip member. I’ve tried logging out and in as suggested under troubleshooting. Nothing. I’ve tried deleting the app and reloading. Nada. I’ve tried cancelling my vip membership and repurchasing. Nothing seems to work. I’ve even tried turning off an add blocker. Argh! And combinations of methods to see if I could get vip back. No. Not happening. Even googled the issue. You know what? I’m not alone. Ha!

VIP member purchasers………buyer beware.

I tried on and off over the last few months to see if it would fix magically or if an update would take care of it. Tencent, if you can fix the issue, you’d have me back. But until then, no more money for you.

Error with videos not available

I downloaded the app specifically for about 10 shows I knew were on it. I initially downloaded it and realized there was a VIP version I had to purchase to watch newer series. I opted to purchase it and began watching with no problem. A week later during which I watched some shows when I log onto the app the videos I’m clicking on are all telling me “not available in your region” I’ve reported a few but it’s extremely frustrating to try and report them all. Also I have not gotten a response as to what the issue is. I paid money for an app I can’t even use now. On top of that it’s extremely sporadic and i can watch one episode of a show but it won’t let me watch previous episodes which defeats the purpose as I won’t watch newer ones with out having seen the previous. Definitely needs a fix.

Mostly Good but…

I enjoy watching Tencent dramas but wonder why they have not gone the route of IQIYI and VIKI and just got their app into the world of TV streaming as well. For instance, with my ROKU TV I can watch Netflix, VIKI and Iqiyi, but have to go through a very flawed process to mirror my phone screen to watch Tencent on a big screen.
On top of that, the screen stops mirroring several times in each episode of any drama I’m watching, so I have to reset over and over again.
It also means I can’t use my phone for anything else while watching on the bigger screen.
Please do something about that-make the link with the smart TV manufacturers and enter the 21st century with us Tencent 🥰🤣4 stars because of the content!

Crashing

Update: My issue is Miss the Dragon. I’m VIP and watched all VIP episodes and paid for a “fast track” one(ep21), but won’t let me watch it, says “not available for my area. I reported the issue but have not heard from no one. Either refund me the money or make it available.

Update: Just checked the app and it works again. Tai kai xin!!! Have used the WeTV app for about a year, started crashing on me two days ago. Gave it time but no change. Downloaded the new app(this tencent one) and still crashes. Can’t watch any videos. I love it, just don’t know how to fix the crashing.:(

I’ve BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT!

I’ve been trying to access my VIP! I’ve sent several emails across my devices. No response. Keeps says email not valid. I used to be able to access without any problems. NOW… NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I’VE UNINSTALLED AND REINSTALLED IT Doesn’t Work!!! I’ve paid my subscription for the YEAR AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO HELP!!! Please fix.

Update: Just like many reviews here, I have been VIP Member for over a year. When the last update to app occurred is when my VIP disappeared. Been trying to contact this company via email like they suggest and to no avail. It says email is invalid. Can’t get a response from anyone from Tencent Video. This is ridiculous. I’ve been reaching out for months now and still no response. I’ve included my information in the email and still nothing.

VIP -Ads Impacting Volume

As a VIP member, the perks is to view shows with no ad interruptions. When I start a show, an ad pops up under the show screen and mutes the volume of the show. The ad shows “open” as if it is required to open to proceed with show. When select open, the Subaru ad opens in Safari. When I return back to Tencent app, volume returns to the show but mutes again (and show is still playing) with this same ad! I have attempted to remove and reload app with the same error. It’s unfortunate this is interrupting my viewing of shows as VIP. May consider dropping the app if problem continues.

Subtitles dissapear

After watching 1 episode on my phone, the app seems to work fine so I signed up for vip only to find out that subtitles doesn’t show up on my ipad. Then in the middle of episode 2, subtitles on my iphone disappeared and Even turning it on and off doesn’t bring it back. There’s no point paying when subtitles doesn’t work. Will cancel when my first month is up. This app needs lots of work. Don’t waste ur time or money trying to figure it out. Learn from me because I spent hours online trying to get info on how to fix the subtitle problem and there isn’t any help.

Amateur endeavor and no customer support

The videos are OK but the software is so bad it makes you want to cry. The search function is a joke but the Watch History is so bad it that the developers should be taking behind the wood shed.

Imagine, you start to watch a TV series but stop for a while. You return and the watch history is gone. You’re forced to relocate the show and search for where you left off. That is no easy task since scrolling through a video is quite slow. And that happens EVERY SINGLE TIME. Complaining to customer support (if you can even find it) is a waste. You’ll simply be ignored.

Be smart. Just ignore this joke of a service. There are others out there that actually work.
