Text to Speech PDF Reader 4+

I really apprecicate this app, it has helped out so much in my classes. Definately worth gettting, and paying the $10 for.
Things that can be improved:
sometimes it will be reading a paragraph and glitch at the end and start reading it over. If you are not watching it closely or paying enough attention, it will just stay in a loop. Easy fix, once you notice. Just pause highlight the first word of the next paraghraph and press play.
second thing that could be improved, if it's even a possiblility, is skipping the header of each page. It will always ready what is at the top of my text books, which sometimes is just the page number, other times its an entire website.
third and final improvenent, sometimes the words aren't pronounced correctly because it does them phonetically.

Overall, if you need a document read, like a text book that's in PDF, this app does the job.

As for your other suggestion, there is a feature in early development that will allow you to define the “readable area” for the pages in a pdf.

I use this app to help me read through academic journal articles for school. Its very helpful and tends to do a good job for most texts. The app tries to read texts that are scanned copies but doesnt always do the best job and I end up reading those on my own.
Sometimes when the paper has columns and they are too close together, the app will read the lines as if they are all one line.
Probably the most frustrating thing about the app is that (with the free version) everytime you stop or pause the reading, when you start again there is a popup for the full version. There are also times that it will crash or even re-read sections over and over. I wonder if this is intentional in the free version to encourage you to buy the full version. But at the same time, these issues have me hesitant to buy the full version.

Hello. Thank you for the feedback. We just fixed the bug where the app repeats sentences. That should not happen anymore. You mentioned the app is crashing. If it is happening with a particular pdf, please send it with a note to contact@weboutloud.oi and we can investigate. PDF is a very old and complicated file format. The app works with the majority of PDFs but it’s not always perfect as you’ve found. And sometimes there’s something we can do to fix it and sometimes it’s out of our control. So we always encourage users to send us copies of problematic PDFs in case there is anything we can do to fix it.

I have a lot of required readings for my coursework so being able to upload them here and have it read to me on my commute to work everyday was beneficial. Of course there were flaws because there is a paid version of it as well. I thought though that this was version was free. In between pausing and starting readings or jumping past tables and charts I would get the pop up to upgrade. Now it won’t play at all and just beeps at me when I press the play button. Almost as if this was a trial only and you have to upgrade to continue to use it. The information that I saw was not clear that was the case otherwise I never would have downloaded it. I do not need all the bells and whistles included in the upgrade. I just need it to read the text that is all!

You said it just beeps at you. This could be that there was no text detected in a particular PDF. There are a lot of PDFs out there that contain scanned images of text but no digital text for the app to read.
