Best IRC Client

Bar none, this is the best IRC client for macOS. Developer is very responsive and is a great guy.

Beautiful, amazing client

This client is everything I’d hoped for, and more. Its scripting support is great, it has first class support for features that are annoying on other clients (bouncer, encryption, certificate auth, etc), and it’s the perfect client to take advantage of Mac’s amazing Unicode support (which I LOVE). The authors didn’t try to make IRC into something that it’s not (like a file sharing client, or something you can run in your browser, etc) There’s nothing earth shattering about any of the features, but when they all come togehter, it just felt like the client I’d been searching for all these years.

The price was spot on too … it doesn’t take long to get your money’s worth - the developers have proven their commitment to this software, so when the recent v7 upgrade came out (again, reasonably priced), I bought it right away - like other people said, to support further development.

High CPU usage and hangs

On Big Sur Textual recently uses a lot of CPU (~20% minimal) and hangs. It is such a shame since it was a great IRC client.
