I downloaded this app last week before taking my first-ever trip to Alaska. It was truly invaluable throughout my stay. It was also surprisingly well polished for a first generation app. No bugs or crashes under four days of intensive use. It was also quite responsive, and takes full advantage of the iPhone 4/4s hardware. The Alaska app is very well organized, and very user friendly. All data automatically refreshes each time the app loads, a critical feature for any tourist app. Every conceivable category is accounted for, and there is a very robust search feature integrated throughout the menu system. Finally, the GPS integration is also first rate, in that every destination is automatically displayed with its distance from your current location; they even use the iPhone's compass to show which direction you're currently traveling in. The Alaska app sets the bar high for any other State looking to emulate the success Alaska will undoubtedly have with this app. A job very well done indeed.

This app has it all. We have traveled to different areas of the world and planning our vacations took a large part of our time. When we decided to come to Alaska we did some research, but when we learned about the Alaska app, that was all we needed. The Alaska app gave us information about lodging,dining and most importantly great places to tour. There were dozens upon dozens of activities that we were able to choose from. We enjoyed watching the videos and seeing pictures of different areas around the state because we were able to make informed decisions of what we wanted to do. If you plan on visiting Alaska, then I highly recommend downloading this app. It is easy to use and you will be glad you did.

My husband and I visited Alaska in 2014 and used the Alaska App to help us find nearby restaurants and things to do. It was extremely helpful in planning our trip as well.I love the updates that have been made with the new version! The bigger photos, additional travel advice articles and re-organization is excellent. But my favorite part is I can now experience it on my new iPad. Can’t wait to visit Alaska again. I highly recommend using the Alaska App for trip planning as well as an indispensable tool while you’re in Alaska.

This is probably the best, most well-thought-out application for tourists I've seen. It is location-specific, so it gave us suggestions that were truly local to us in every city, including upcoming events - it wasn't full of stale information. It also included current weather forecasts, and even gave a forecast for the Aurora. Exactly what a tourist would want to know.It served us very well in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Seward, and Homer. I just wish we could find similar apps for other regions that are even half this useful.

It deserves 6 stars now with all the new info added on the recent update. I am not used to a app with REAL information on Alaska, this is just great. How nice a Denali sized app. I recommend this to anyone who lives here and OK I recommend it to lower 48 residents or Canadians on vacation it would be priceless information. I see it gets even better as time goes on. My favorite part is viewing the weather cams to check weather and driving conditions.

A must have for anybody that lives in, has traveled to, or plans on visiting the state of AK in the future. More information than I ever imagined, and I consider myself to be fairly knowledgable when it comes to this state. As a photographer, I have spent over a decade traveling through some of the most beautiful landscapes this state has to offer....and my only regret is that I did not have this app a decade ago to help guide me. I just got back from a 3 week photography trip to Alaska and I have to say this app saved me a lot of time. It wasn't easy to decide where to go at times. We used this app to check weather, web cams, aurora forecasts and much more. It made group decisions easier and researching conditions painless. I highly recommend this app to anyone traveling around Alaska.

Loved loved loved this app. We traveled around the Kenai Peninsula and up to Denali and always found great stuff using this app. It has all sorts of great recommendations and we learned a lot about Alaska. Also great for my kids to listen and learn about flaura, fauna, history and sites we were visiting. Highly recommend to anyone traveling (or living) in Alaska. Wish there were more travel apps that were as good as this one!

This app is a great tool to use while traveling throughout Alaska. It will only get better too as more use it and share travel experiences with other app users. I am in the film industry, I use it as a tool for work as it helps me to find local community color and flavor. If you are traveling for pleasure or business in Alaska, you need this app.

I used this app for driving from Seward to Anchoarage and then to Denali. A gold mine of info! It told me things to see and do and had interesting stories about the places along the way. I wish I knew about this app before I came to Alaska. There's a travel guide on the home screen with great tips for when to come, where to go, what to do, etc. Thanks for all the hard work!
