Loved this second book and so did my grandchild!
My 6 year old grandchild loved this book as much as the first. It made her giggle wildly. It was a sort of, “Silly grownups” kind of giggle. She can’t wait for a third book. In a world full of negativity I love this positive little artist.
I see why the first review was not good, and I understand that what are now seen as “political” agendas in books are frowned upon and this is an “all in” for let’s change things. That said, to a child, if it isn’t a good thing for the air, the ground, the world, well, the solution is simple- stop doing it. Hahaha This book does not make one negative statement. It encourages awareness of the entire world and its environment. Then it gives simple, colorful, positive solutions. So far I love Mortimer. Hopefully his next book will be just as positive, but maybe a bit more like the first. Sometimes it is our kindness and compassion that allows others to see that “other” viewpoint.
Really enjoyed reading the first Mortimer to my granddaughter, but this one reads like a Sierra Club manifesto...I agree with most of the ideas presented but it was way over the top. I'd like my 99 cents back.
