Was Unfortunately Bad - Now Getting Better!

UPDATE: New version of this app is MUCH better than the former. Requires a single login which my mobile device holds for the next sessions (I.e., you don’t have to log in with credentials every day).
So far it seems stable and designed by a different source. Glad to see this update!

This app I regret is substantially inferior to other newspaper apps. For the past several weeks, it requires that the user log on EVERY TIME one uses the app. Then following successful log on, the app freezes. User must then quit the app and relaunch it; THEN it permits reading the newspaper.
I have reported this problem innumerable times to the Chronicle but with no results.
The same problem appeared with the release of an updated app in April 2019 and the problem at that time was addressed.

But the problem now recurs with no fix from the Augusta Chronicle.

Good app, lack of local news

The app works very well—just like it should for this kind of content. I like being able to read the actual page images (and being able to zoom in with a single tap), which is well-suited to a smaller newspaper like this one than for a digital version of a larger appear like the NY Times or Washington Post. But I must say that the proportion of local news is amazingly small. It’s shocking and disappointing that the opening of a fast-food chain in a suburb can be a front-page, above the fold story in a city the size of Augusta. The quality of the local coverage should match that of the app.

Augusta Chronicle Review

I enjoy reading the articles of this newspaper; however, it would be beneficial for arrival authors to have the minutes to review the grammar and punctuation before the news goes to print. I love the pictures that quickly give the main idea of the article meaning when their viewing audience has many things to do that morning.
