Description

The Battle for Wesnoth is a turn-based tactical strategy game with a high fantasy theme. Build up a great army, gradually turning raw recruits into hardened veterans. In later games, recall your toughest warriors and form a deadly host whom none can stand against! Choose units from a large pool of specialists, and hand-pick a force with the right strengths to fight well on different terrains against all manner of opposition.

Amazing open source game!

One of the only games to make me appreciate all the time people put into games.
Looks simple at first but is one of the most complex strategy games I have seen in a long time.
Game get frequent updates.
No microtransactions.
Tons of addons by the community for additional content!
Amazing Art!
And last of all, amazing stories to pull you into the lore of Wesnoth!
You are missing out if you dont at least look atthe game

Fun free game; requires some thought but not overly complicated

My expectations were low for a free strategy game of this genre, but it's fun and doesn't require a lot of time to learn and isn't as complicated as many such games.
