Description
Live the life of a traditional cattleman, and solve the mysteries of the villages and landscapes of the Gruyère Pays-d’Enhaut Regional Nature Park. The Cheese Trails application allows you to do just that.
This application introduces the walker to the natural and cultural riches along the Cheese Trails of Le Gruyère AOP and L’Etivaz AOP. These historic routes link Les Avants, Charmey, L’Etivaz and Rougemont through 21 stages of 1 to 4 hours, all accessible by public transport.
The application adapts to the interests of each user, highlighting key locations and nearby restaurants for meal stops. Find out more about the historical use of these trails in short films about the cheese trade in the 17th and 18th centuries, when these routes carried cheese to the markets of France.
The Cheese Hunt game is a fun way to learn more about the history and traditions of the Gruyère and Pays-d’Enhaut region. Decipher the carvings on the chalets in Rougemont, find out why all the stones were removed from the alpages, put yourself in the picture, or discover a mysterious open-roofed chapel.
