Love this App! Definitely Worth Subscribing!
This app is such a great resource, from the shows to current events to the collections. I would really like to see a way to bookmark or save things to lists to read later, and some more features on playback-but even those things considered-it’s still a 5 Star for me!
Even my 12-year-old daughter enjoys the app and actually surprised me when she started sending me screenshots and links when she’s at her dads. Plus she uses it for her weekly current event assignments in school, so that’s a bonus.
Anyway-I highly recommend this app/site, it’s a source I can trust and enjoy.
Oh, and as you listen to shows, sometimes they will throw in coupon codes for a discount to upgrade. (Just a quick tip if your on the line!)
A few features would make this a 5 Star
I love the app and use it daily often using it to both watch shows as well as listen to them while I’m getting other things done. All in all, the app runs flawless for me and lacks the cheesy over the top feeling I have gotten from other similars apps. This being said, I am really surprised that it is lacking some key features such as continuous playback of videos with the screen locked as well as saving your place in the shows when you exit the app. Personally I don’t always have time to listen to a full show in one sitting and I often resort to guessing roughly where I was when I left off. I feel like two things would be a huge QOL improvement for a large amount of people like me who pay the subscription primarily for phone access.
TL;DR The app is really good, I use it every single day to access great shows. There are a few Quality of Life improvements that could be made, but, if you don’t currently have this app then download it!
Content is great, but...
The content is great, and overall I'm enjoying the app; however, it needs a few things buttoned up from the UX side.
I prefer the way apple podcasts handles their shows, in terms of content structure. I like a feed of new episodes right at the top (or easily accessible), along with title and date of show. That way I know if I missed a show or not. I know you have this nestled under the play tab, but it would be nice to have preference settings where I could choose audio or video to be highlighted. And maybe which shows I want to see right at the top? Currently, if I want to listen to a Shapiro Show, for example, it takes me 4 clicks to get there.
Along that same vein, it would be nice to have a "played" notation next to shows I've already listened to or watched. With so much content, it's hard to remember what I've already consumed.
Additionally, can you PLEASE come up with a way to save my location listening to a show. I work full time, so I'm often in and out of meetings all day. It's hard to want to use the app when I have to start from the beginning of a podcast each time I stop to do something else. It's irritating enough for me to switch back to apple podcasts for listening, then only use daily wire for reading. :(
One other little bug — 2 more hours of the Shapiro Show is more like 1 hour and 10 minutes. That's kind of misleading.
