The Dancing Master will now create a series of automatic database backups (TheDancingMaster.autoBackup0 through TheDancingMaster.autoBackup9) when leaving the app if you have changed any of the dances or events. You should copy these to your computer periodically to make sure you are fully protected from data loss.

It has been brought to our attention that there are some who are no longer using John Playford's calendar. We were shocked to learn that many, if not all, aspiring Dancing Masters were forced, starting in 1752, to schedule their lives according to the Gregorian system. This oversight on our part caused some yuletide events to appear in the wrong year. Yr Obt Svt

We tried, gentle users, we tried. We thought that giving Additional Information its own icon would be a pleasant thing to do, only to discover that the hoped-for icon, a bundle of paper tied with a ribbon, looked ever so much like a gift box of candies we once gave to a special teacher. Then, with some joy, we thought the charming Gem Paperclip would be a perfectly modern (i.e., Regency) substitute. Our hopes were dashed when research showed that this useful device was first manufactured late in Queen Victoria's reign. However, we have decided to use the paperclip icon until an historically accurate 52 x 52 pixel illustration can be found. Users are most cordially invited to send their period-appropriate artwork for consideration for use in future editions of The Dancing Master. The "Send Event Information" and "Send Detailed Event Information" missives now have a third section of dances titled "At the Event". We hope that it will be most useful to those callers who receive requests for a list of an event's dances from their adoring public.

While we are never pleased to find faults in our humble creation, we are nonetheless pleased to pass on a more useful tool for our friends. We offer our sincerest apologies. A change to improve one portion of The Dancing Master introduced a (we shudder to use that common term) "bug." This release is our humble attempt to rectify the regrettable situation. You should now find that when you position images and leave a page, they will be as you left them when you return. Prevent a user from adding a string with lead or trailing blanks in GroupSelector Fixed problem with importing csv. Allow users of import csv from email. Added Additional Information (works like instructions and sheet music). Fixed iOS 6 problem with initial landscape view on an iPad In Dance Information, can move items between Instructions, Music, and Additional Information. "Called Dances" renamed to At the Event. Events now have two states: Planning the Event and At the Event. Screens work for iPhone 5. iPhone screen rotation problems fixed. As always, reading the instructions before purchasing this app is strongly suggested.

Remove white space from before and after user input. (Please note, the first time you run v 1.3.3 it may take longer to start as the app is cleaning white space from the ends strings in the database.) Fixed date problem in the Event List's section titles. Rotating the iPhone no longer shifts part of the image off screen. When sorting dances by title, the app will ignore the first character if it is a period, apostrophe, quote, dash, open paren, open bracket, or open brace.

Bug fixes - 1.3.2 1. The app will stop panning or scaling if the page is about to go off screen. (This prevents the image from running off the screen if the user enlarges or reduces the size.) 2. The app will stop reducing the image if it gets vanishingly small. 3. Single-finger double tap on instructions/sheet music will fit the image to the screen. 4. Two-finger double tap will delete the cached image of a page and recreate it, in the event that cases 1, 2, and 3 don't solve the problem of a disappearing image. This also helps out if the user has replaced a pdf. 5. The background of the instructions/sheet music page is light gray, letting the user know where the page ends and the background begins. 6. An orange activity indicator is shown when the instruction/sheet music page is being prepared. 7. The logic that makes events 3 hours long was changed, so that start and end times are now the same initially. 8. The event time and date displays no longer change when the system time changes. When the new version of the app starts for the first time, the times and dates are locked at their current values. 9. Genre can now contain more than one value. (The user can now have dances that are, for example, both ECD and Contra.) 10. When the user pushes The Dancing Master into the background while viewing instructions or music, the displayed image no longer disappears.

The email created to send to musicians now obeys the convention of skipping dances in Blue and Red Barnes. Copy Event now copies the dances from Selected to Selected and from Reserved to Reserved. Please download and read the instructions for full details on the changes.

Fixed a problem experienced when adding dances to an event. Renamed the database to match the name used in the documentation. Changed the wording of the email created when the user asks to send the dance information.

Added the Dance Grid to help you more efficiently program events. Added Used in Events to the Dance Detail to help you remember where you called the dance before. Changed the player so it will stop after each tune. Changed the tables so that swiping will no longer start a delete item sequence.

Added support for the display of TXT, DOC, DOCX, and RTF files. You can now transfer PDF, TXT, DOC, DOCX, and RTF files attached to emails to The Dancing Master's document library. As always, we strongly suggest that you read the application's instructions.
