Needs A Fresh Update
The app suffers from a number of flaws related to its old codebase. It is sluggish on modern iOS 11 devices and does not communicate well with its own backend. I am routinely logged-out and asked for my credentials to view the digital edition. The sharing features are not current with contemporary iOS standards and are thus cumbersome. Overall this could be a good app; but MLive has not invested the necessary resources in app development. I hope you consider a fully rewritten update.
Why isn’t obituary included in the Flint Journal. Very difficult to find.
Digital version just doesn’t work
Recently moved from Oakland County to Genesee County and really wanted local news from Flint Journal. I had read the Oakland Press for years on my iPad and really hoped that the Flint Journal would be as good. Very disappointing! Digital version just flat out doesn’t work on iPad and is spotty on my iPhone.
You guys can’t charge $2.99/week for a crap application. But if you fix it I’ll happily pay it. Unfortunately I’ve given up, so will never know if you improved it or not. Basically you’ve lost a customer forever. No wonder that local newspapers are going the way of the dinosaurs.
