The Science Behind Happiness

The Happy Child Positive Parenting app is an incredibly informative resource for those that are either expecting or currently have children, and even for those that do not have children. The lessons are not thoughtless suggestions on how to be a “better parent,” but rather offer explanations for suggested behaviors that will enrich the lives of our children and as well as the parents. People often forget that human behavior is a clash of hormones and chemicals; this app not only reminds one of their biology, it zeroes in on the specific chemicals that dominate our lives whether it’s realized or not, and advises one which chemicals to maximize and/or minimize.

I do not have any children but the content of the videos are informative enough to make me aware of the impact I would have on my child. It also notes that these desired actions to increase long-term happiness are not just for the children but also have a profound affect on the parent(s). This app could be crucial for first-time parents.

The app itself is laid out very neatly and is easy to navigate. I especially appreciated how the experience is customized to the user, asking if one is a parent or not. The description of the videos are clear and the questions after each video are especially helpful to ensure one truly grasps the information that is presented. I would highly recommend this app to anyone that is around children.

Very informative AND helpful

This app clearly demonstrates in a way that make it easy for me to understand what the underlying cause of behavioral issues are AND helps provide me with helpful tips/solutions to fix them. There has definitely been more of a push to focus on mental health to improve parenting and overall quality of life. But to be honest, I did not even know where to begin. These videos and lessons clearly outline what is important and how to make the necessary changes for a positive improvement.

Also, I thought this would be just for kids.. but I am seeing how it is helping me. Understanding the little chemicals in our brain that makes us feel the way they do and understanding which are short term fixes VS long term fixes. I recognize that I can also use some of these tips on me.

Plus, as a big bonus for me, the app is visually pleasing. The messages are clear and the videos are interesting. It holds my attention and I actually learn... rather than starting a parenting book and putting it down before I get any valuable information. Would definitely recommend to parents ... but I truly recommend this app to anyone trying to learn more about themselves and get some key tips and solutions to improve their quality of life.

Really great, helpful information!

I love how this app breaks down information into small, easy to understand lessons. The videos are very short, so it’s very easy to just spend a minute on them. This information is very accurate. I am reading other parenting books as well, and this is similar to those. I work in mental health, and love that this is so updated with current scientific facts.

Seriously love this! I can get done with the entire course so fast! Probably within an hour all together. I can rewatch and reread it a few times after to really get it stuck in my brain. Rewatching and rereading is something that is not easy for me to do, since it usually takes me quite a bit to get through things that are packed with tons of information (i.e. a book). If it’s fiction, I can read for long periods of time, but non-fiction is harder for me to keep my focus on for too long. This app makes it so simple and easy - I don’t have a hard time following along! It’s worth it, completely. It’s amazing that it’s free. I think these lessons taught are EXTREMELY important for raising our children.
