The Interval Timer is a straightforward interval timer with an interface that is fun to use. Set your exercise time, rest time, how many sets you want to do and start working out. If the app gets put in the background your timer will still send you notifications for when it is time to rest, exercise and when your workout is done.

I find this app very nice and easy to use. The lack of advertisements makes it even better, in my opinion. It's free, after all. I would love to see an added feature of a "warm-up" and "cool-down"sections in it, which could be inserted anywhere in between. I frequently performe 20 to 30 minute interval training on my bicycle which usually include a 3 to 4 minutes warm-up section followed by 30 seconds intervals of maximum effort followed by 30 second intervals of easy effort or rest. These are done followed by three or four minute cooldown intervals. Having all four components of interval training including "warm-up", "exercise", "rest", and "cool-down" would be even more beneficial to people. Very nice effort, though!!
Simple, effective, could use better sound options.
I REALLY like how simple and easy this app is to set up and use. Really allows you to run an effective workout. I give the set up and effectiveness 5 stars. The only drawback I feel is the low alarm tones, limited sound options and it not having a count down towards the end (let's say the last 5s) of the work or rest segments. The countdown towards the end, to me, are vital if you're one who doesnt like to keep looking at the phone for time, especially when preparing for a work segment. Overall though, still worth it to download.
Needs iOS 11 update
I use this app daily for my workout routine. Since updating my iPhone to the iOS 11 this app is no longer compatible. When this app is working it is perfect for everything you need out of an interval timer.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
