Description
This app powers Improv Everywhere's Mp3 Experiment project. The app will synchronize playback of a custom audio file for all participants who have downloaded it and joined the event. Users simply need to have the app open at the event's start time, and the audio will automatically begin playing in sync.
The Mp3 Experiment is a participatory audio adventure where attendees download an audio file and listen to synchronized secret instructions in a public space. Hilarity ensues as participants carry out ridiculous, synchronized instructions delivered to their headphones via narrator "Steve" and everyone else tries to figure out what in the world is going on.
We stage a new Mp3 Experiment in New York each year and also tour the project to college campuses and festivals around the world.

Good, but needs work
I like everything- the app is pretty well created, but the mp3 experiment wasn't easier with the app... When I locked my device at 3:01 , the app was still opened but playback stopped and going back to app, it said - 'thanks for participating ; the event has now ended' ... For next year, try to fix the app do it resumes playback in the correct place in case it closes (: otherwise, nice job!
Works Well!
The app has worked perfectly for me over the last several years. I use it once per year at the events among all the many other participants and have not noticed or heard of the app not similarly operating properly and easily for others. That’s my experience. Simple, nicely functional and fun! Enjoy The Mp3 Experiment!
Doesn’t Work
was required to get this app for a class. i downloaded the day ahead like recommended. when i got to where the event was taking place, no ones app would load the audio. completely ruined the experiment and the whole purpose of the experiment because our professors had to play the audio through speakers.
