What if there was a way you could inoculate against the daily stresses of life?

Carolyn Daitch and Lissah Lorberbaum have just given us the next best thing with The Road to Calm Workbook. This is the workbook’s complimentary companion app. It is presented to enhance readers’ ability to take the tools and exercises presented in the workbook on the go. The result: enhanced resilience, well-being, and freedom from the emotional patterns that create suffering and damage relationships.

Whether you are a therapist looking for powerful tools that your patients can use between sessions, or an individual working to manage your own stresses and emotions, this workbook, along with its accompanying app, is an essential resource. The Road to Calm Workbook helps readers understand when and why emotional overwhelm occurs and teaches concrete, practical, easy-to-use practices that anyone can use to lower baseline levels of emotional reactivity and deescalate emotional overwhelm when it arises.

The Road to Calm Companion App makes it even easier to put the workbook’s tools for managing emotional reactivity into practice. The app itself contains two main parts. Part I provides tools for implementing the “Daily Stress Inoculation,” a daily practice for relaxing and lowering baseline levels of emotional reactivity. Part II provides tools for implementing “The STOP Solution,” a protocol taught in the workbook to stop or lessen experiences of emotional overwhelm.

With The Road to Calm Workbook and its accompanying app in hand, life’s challenges just got a little less challenging.

While the workbook is fabulous, I’ve purchased it and have it accompanying disc I find it frustrating that the app is $6.99. Perhaps I’m mistaken in that the app contains the same information as the disc plus a reminder. Is there a way to make the app available to those who aren’t simply buying the app without an additional fee (the fee seems redundant if I own the disc)? Thank you.
