“There are very few effects that transcend ‘magic trick’. ’The Stranger' is one of those effects."
-David Regal, "Genii Magazine"
“The Stranger” offers unlimited scenarios: A playing card is chosen, a word is thought of from a Book Test, the numbers from someone’s address are named, an envelope is freely selected, or the name of someone’s loved one is offered…and then, a random stranger is called. The audience has a conversation with the stranger and the stranger reveals the information.
This is an impossible moment. It leaves the audience with a feeling they cannot explain and they erupt in applause! Not out of a desire to be kind, rather as an uncontrollable, visceral reaction. And it happens every time.
With this purchase, you can have a playing card—any card, using no force of any kind—revealed by a stranger. Other effects can be unlocked to allow a number or a word revealed, read an NFC tag, or to simply allow the audience member to speak and have key details revealed by the stranger on the other end of the call without the performer saying a word.

Ratings and Reviews
Deceptively Simple, Yet Massively Powerful!
I’m not typically a huge fan of “phone magic” but The Stranger is not that at all. It’s not about using your phone to do magic. It’s about organically using your phone the way everyone knows a phone is supposed to be used — to make calls. It is deceptively simple in concept, but massively powerful in effect and possibilities. What seems like a simple prediction becomes a lesson in the impossible. Think about it. A spectator picks a card. You call a phone number that is created by a random bunch of people. A complete stranger answer the phone and is able to name your spectator’s card. Impossible, right? Well, The Stranger makes the impossible possible. And the more you explore its options, the more you realize how all the modes, options, and settings reveal new presentations ideas and opportunities to fry your friends, family, and audiences, from close-up to parlor and stage. I can’t wait to see what new features are on the horizon. Endless possibilities. Kudos to Jonathan Levit for creating an inspiring piece of magic that is suitable for all ages, audiences, venues, and magicians of all levels.
Its difficult to explain how much this effect resonates with people. It’s not just the impossibility of the trick but it’s also that they play part in every aspect of it, from the selection of the phone number to the apparent failures (that further convince what is happening is 100% real) They are going along for the ride on not just a magic trick but also a “prank call” of sorts. That taps into something that is exciting AND impossible. The spectator can even do all of the talking, further eliminating any method they could ever hope to grasp. When the card is finally revealed there is this beautiful and pure moment of astonishment that all of us as magicians ever hope to achieve. I can’t recommend this enough.
The plot of “The Wizard” for 21st-century
We all know the plot of calling a “wizard“ to divine an audience member’s selected card. This is a utility that puts that plot on steroids. Well thought out and consistently evolving with new ideas, Jonathan Levit has created some thing that every magician who has a cell phone, should have. Once you go through the tutorial and with a little practice (brush up on your acting skills), you’re good to go. And you become a member of the Stranger Community in which your fellow magicians are more than willing to help you in your performance and you in theirs. Most important: excellent customer service, which is really short supply these days. Thank you, Jonathan.
