This game is very nice to look at, and has good music to go along with it. It is not your traditional hidden object game though. Rather than being given a list of things to find you are working towards a goal - solve a bigger puzzle. You collect pieces to go with the challenging puzzle. In this game you are traveling around a small planet and each area you go into has a different set of challenges. The gameplay is easy but not too easy. Some of the puzzle games were downright frustrating. All in all this game is very fun and easy to catch onto. The only cons I would give it is: sometimes the puzzles were a bit vague, and the game is very short. I wish that the game would have been a lot longer. At the end you can go back and play some of the challenging puzzle game -a fun way to stump your friends. Another reason I enjoyed this game is because it wasn't really tying to sucker you into some story or theme the entire time, in other games I find that s bit annoying and it slows down gameplay. A very good purchase and I would recommend it to anyone who like puzzle strategy.
The art in this app is truly that. Art. I found this to be a challenging game, mostly because there were absolutely no instructions as to how to play the game. I ended up having to resort to a walkthrough to learn the basics and get through the very beginning of the game. But, after I grasped the basics of how to work the app, it proved to be most challenging and fun! I bought the book that tells the story behind the app and found that to be also very good. I am only on the second section of the game, so cannot say whether it is too short or not, but the challenging nature of the game has made it very enjoyable and interesting. My one problem has been that some of the gestures need to be repeated repeatedly, because they do not work the first time that you try them. Other than that, I cannot say enough about how great this game really is! I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a puzzler that is both challenging and a work of art.
This game is surprisingly addicting. At first I had no idea what to do and couldn't get past the first level until I looked up a walk-through online. This gave me the gist of what the game-play was like and I was able to finish the rest of the game without reverting to the cheat-sheet (mostly). Most of the fun was trying to figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do, anyway. It was a nice brain-stretcher. It's very pretty, and once I got the hang of it I just went straight through and wanted to keep playing, so I finished it in about 2 evenings I think. Maybe it is a little short, but I can't expect it to go on forever for just $5! The art is lovely and the gameplay is flawless, I had no problems. I was very impressed with how sensitive it was. I will be looking into buying more apps from this developer.
I VERY rarely take the time to write a review for an app, but I had to make an exception for this one. This is truly one of the best games I've played. I read some of the bad reviews and I can understand why people could get frustrated, but if you like puzzle games and thrive on challenge, you're not going to find better. It's not at all easy. With no direction, you have to figure out EVERYTHING. I stared at the screen for several minutes at one point with no clue of what to do next. Then, I spotted something that just barely caught my eye and it was all I needed to move forward. But it's not just hidden picture stuff. There is a lot of logic involved. And as for the color thing, I am color blind, and I've had no problems. This is just a really hard game. Only get it if you really like to think!
I enjoyed the puzzles although none of them were exceptionally challenging. The game is quite attractive to look at. I had two problems. First, touching items to pick them up is hit or miss which makes it hard to know if you are trying to pick up the right item or not. Also, it was my understanding that I had to find all the puzzle pieces before moving to the next level, but going from the second to last level to the last level it let me proceed and gave me all the pieces to the jigsaw portion even though I still had two to find. Then the final scene ended very abruptly, almost like the game crashed, and it took me immediately to the jigsaw. I don't believe I was allowed to finish the final level. If that is how the game is meant to end, it was a huge anti-climax. The game was extremely short....I would say I played for about two hours. In the end, I don't think it was worth the purchase price.
This is one of my all-time favorite point/click puzzle adventure games. Illustration style is like a cuter, less gloomy Machinarium but still unique and excellent in its own right. Gameplay is mostly very simple: finding/tapping obscured objects on the screen. But the way the different tasks are sequenced and bookended by puzzles and challenges keeps you on your toes. Like many games of this genre, The Tiny Bang Story is short. You can finish it in a couple of sittings easily. I hope that the developers add more content (or make a sequel or a similar kind of game). A few of the puzzles/challenges will frustrate certain types of gamers, but ultimately this game is beatable by almost anyone, especially if you're willing to Google an answer or two if you're stumped. (Hate u fountain puzzle.)
