The TREASURE - Escape Game ‪-‬ 4+

Mani makes genius level escape rooms that not only have unique puzzles, but they make you feel super clever to solve them.
This newest edition Treasure, is no exception. Brilliant quality graphics and puzzles as always!
And ads that I can tolerate! They don't pop up in the middle of a click. Just one when you launch and some banners at bottom of screen. I'm SO okay with that.

Keep up the fantastic work Mani! I love your games and often replay them again after I've forgotten them. I just finished treasure and I can't wait to forget it so I can play again lol!

When people complain about escape rooms, it’s usually because they can’t solve them. That is not the case here. This game is horrific for many reasons. First of all, the game mechanics are terrible. Every frame is basically a stand still, which makes it hard to see items, especially toward the end. And, having to click in and out so much gave me a motion migraine. Secondly, the clues in this game are not well connected. I solved the up/down arrow box without the globe, the outdoor statue without the arrow, and the drawer “shape-lock” without magnifying the book. But, I’m just supposed to know to go dig in the ground that couldn’t be clicked on before, that the wheel in the basement toggles a ladder, or to memorize where the constellations are at the end because once you start messing with the combinations they won’t reset to their starting positions. It sounds simple once you know what to do, but in the moment it’s weird. Third, there is no story at all… when a game starts out saying “you’re trapped in a room for some reason…” you may want to go ahead and skip it. You have to think about the flow of your game. Putting “complicated” puzzles together is not enough to make a good game. If the mechanics and story were better, I could enjoy difficult puzzles. But as is, it’s not enjoyable at all. I think whoever made this is capable of doing better. They’re clearly intelligent, but have confused complexity with creative intelligence.

I really enjoyed this game and despite it being a four sides 3-d game, it was rendered really well with quite a bit of detail. I love it’s little nod to Myst too. It had a good variety of puzzles and although some of them were common types, there were unexpected twists and challenges in them which kept it fresh. I didn’t expect it to have so many levels either and the end was also quite clever. Let’s hope the other games I just downloaded from this developer are as fun.
