The Upanishads are records of the deepest spiritual experiences of the ancient Indian Rishis of that age. It is here that one gets a glimpse of the workings of the minds of the great seers and thinkers of ancient India. It is from here that the entire systems of Indian philosophy and religion and spirituality have drawn their inspiration and the energy for their growth and enrichment. The Upanishads represent the true Indian spirit in not only religion, philosophy and spirituality but they are also the fountain-head of all Indian art, poetry and literature.

There are several commentaries, both ancient and modern, by Indians and scholars from the West. Among them the writings of Sri Aurobindo on the Upanishads occupy a special place as they are based directly on intuitive and spiritual experiences, and are yet presented in a manner suitable to the modern rational mind.

We present here the major Upanishads in the light of Sri Aurobindo, which may be useful for the spiritual seeker, the scholar of religion and philosophy, and the student interested in India’s spiritual tradition, her ancient and rich culture. It will be of special benefit to the youth who want to imbibe the values contained in the Upanishads and to build a new India in the future.

Very well done.

Wealth of information for the seekers. Very well organized. Thank you for the technical people as well as the content producers.

Few months later: Having trouble to save/mark where I left reading. Instead of grouping shlokas to the meaning, the creators just cut and paste same translation to many shlokas. Gets confusing. UI can improved further to make it more useful. But happy to have current content.

What a potent resource! As I am a student of Sanskrit, The only thing that I would love to see, is a little of the grammar included in the word for word translation. Also the recitations are sometimes off.... sometimes visargas should be audible, and other times not... sometimes it seems that the Sandhi is ignored. Other than those minor things, I find this to be an unequaled resource of an App. Thank you!

Great app!
Very informative and easily accessible!
If any modification is to be made
Please let it be that the minor upanishads have some even if little English translation.
Thank you for making this app
