Ratings and Reviews
News that is believable.
My dad would bring the times home for me to read as a kid. Being a loyal Redskin fan the Monday editions was used for my scrapbook. As I got older I realized that US and worldwide news was reported in a unbiased way. I still buy a paper copy of the times during football season and special current events. For some reason my generation still enjoys the ability to sit down and enjoy a news paper while having a cup of coffee or lunch break. Old habits are hard to break. A great newspaper.
Frustrating-Dan Snyder of news apps
Too many ads on the screen especially of the type that expand or play animations. One has to scroll past the ads or close them in order to read the articles. Also the text is constantly shifting as ads load within the page pushing text up and down.
Personally I also believe this causes the app to freeze or crash more often than other news apps I use (NY Post, WSJ, USA Today, Rush Limbaugh, National Review).
While there are many great writers at the Times (I live for Pruden’s columns) the app makes it painful to regularly use. A redesign and better ad integration would go a long way to resolving a lot of these issues.
It is a delight to find a news source that presents news in a balanced way. I have grown disgusted with entities like the NYT or the LA Times. They are both predictably hostile and disapproving of every aspect of the Trump administration, including the many significant accomplishments to date. Just like millions of my fellow Americans, I want to see America prosper and strengthen. I would like American media to be fair enough to note when that happens even when that is achieved by those it opposes. ——Mike
