Description

TheatreSound allows you to cue songs, sounds and loops with professional accuracy. No manual fading, no frantic loading of digital media or skipping to the right track.

The TheatreSound app allows you to cue sounds like a professional theater lighting rig. No manual fading, no frantic loading of digital media or skipping to the right track.

Set up an entire performance using any media available on your Mac, and then simply cue each sound in the scene as it occurs. You can make last-minute changes on the fly, so you stay in full control.

Example uses include controlling background ambience in theater productions, cuing sound effects with on-stage dialogue, mixing backing tracks for dancers and singers. All good for the perfect theater sound.

The MacOS version allows you to layer up sounds to create richer and more dynamic musical atmospheres. Cues can be triggered manually, but there are also flexible auto-cue options, so you can time transitions with pin-point accuracy.

Great Value for Price

This is a nice little app for small theatre producitons. Great starter app for learning sound cues in a theatre and compentent to get the job done. (note: occasional stabilty issues, but the app has a lot of nice features and, for the pice, the nicest features in the App Store).

The two feature that really hold it back:

1) inability to set in/out points on a music file (read: you have to bring in an clip that is already edited to the in/out points you'll require in the cue.); this makes it diffiuclt to make minor adjustments once a cue has been built, and obviouisly requires you to edit sound in another app and bring it in to TheatreSound just right.

2) the layout is odd. This could be radically improved with three minor changes: a) use columns as scenes and place all cues for a scene in the same column below one another; b) add option to collopse cue to essential controls instead of leaving wave form visible - this way, easier to view all cues in a column; c) remove symbols for cue types and just replace with larger button with clear text indicator of what type of cue is set.

All in all, this is the best cuing app in the App Store right now for theatrical work. Great job!
