Great music...when it plays

I've loved The Blast since I found. The music is great, and I've discovered a lot of awesome artists since I started using the app. But I've been having a lot of problems with the music stopping mid-song, followed by the app crashing. Also, a lot of the album art won't refresh when a new song comes along. Maybe this is a problem with my phone? I don't know.

Too Limited (maybe.)

Update: The developers contacted me about my review. They said they were incorporating more old stuff. They also said they have something for older stuff Saturdays for it. I might try it in the future.

Original review: This app caught my attention because I love Christian hard rock/metal. At first use, I thought it was okay—as it went on, however, I noticed that they would play the same songs a few hours later after they had played it a few hours previously. I then noticed that this was the regular way they did this. I kept the app after this realization, seeing if they would mix it up—they didn't.

My main problem with this app is that I think it's too limited. I think it needs WAY more older stuff, (E.G., older Disciple, Skillet, etc.) They did play some older things, but they were few and far between. I understand that you need to play new stuff, but not everyone likes the new stuff (raises hand.) I think they should mix it up a few days a week with older stuff. (When I say older stuff, I mean Disciple's Back Again, By God, etc., and Skillet's Collide, etc.)

Overall, I give this app three stars. Too limited.

Developer Response ,

Metalhead for Christ: Thank you for your feedback. We have added back some of the vintage music from bands like Disciple and Skillet into our regular rotation. We also have a show called The Blastozoic Era...which has been running for years...and it has expanded from 3 hours to 6 hours weekly. It airs Saturday nights from 6 to Midnight USA/Canadian Central Time. As to newer songs coming every few hours, we are a hit music rock station, not a randomizing jukebox. That repeat is going to is not going to change. But hopefully you will like the influx of 1-3 older tunes per hour.

Good but,

Love the music.
- Sometimes repeats the same stuff too much at the same time of day each day (i.e. 7 am everyday sometimes same songs as 5 pm)
- Controls are too small to touch in car. 128 is too high use while driving in 3G mode.
- I wish we could give ratings to songs we like, like thumbs up or down.
- I wish we could operate it from the lock screen.
- have the app not lock screen or stream name of songs across screen
