Times Alive Lite 4+

Like a lot of parents we are looking at how our kids can be up to speed when school returns after the quarantine. This program is great and super engaging. My son is excited to learn and watch the video’s with the stories. We ask him through out the day what different times are and with the help of the stories he is able to quickly remember it. If he struggles with the answer I will follow up with remember it is the one with the cheer. And then it clicks and he know the answer. Not only will he up to speed he will be ahead when he returns to school in the fall. Totally worth the purchase, kid loves the app, and is way cheaper than a tutor.

I have to say, I’m a homeschooling mom of 12+ years and a math tutor. I downloaded the Lite version to see about sharing this with my tutoring clients. I decided to test the app and entered the incorrect answers for the “Zero is King”. It told me that the answers were wrong but said that I had “completed” that section. Hmm. Not sure that would be helpful for my kiddos, to do the problems incorrectly, be rewarded with “good job” and have that lesson be marked as completed. Maybe I’m missing something… it also would be great to know how much to buy the app before I have to push the “buy the app” button. The possibilities for this app if done correctly, would be great. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend it as-is. Bummer. Missed opportunity.

We love City Creek Press products and resources. The Times Alive app is a fun way to teach multiplication through stories. People tend to recall information when it is put into context such as in story and songs. My husband and I even told each other this would have been an awesome resource to have when we were learning our times tables tables.
Times Alive has cute animation and visuals to keep the kids interested and engaged.
