Description

Kids don’t come with a manual, but this is pretty close. Discover online classes for the modern parent, taught by certified experts.

Tinyhood was founded by two moms (who are passionate engineers and entrepreneurs) who knew there had to be a better way to learn about parenting in the 21st century. Tinyhood offers access to certified parenting experts through high-quality classes in breastfeeding, infant CPR, sleep, behavior, and so much more.

Watch engaging, online parenting classes at your own pace — on your own schedule. Our flexible classes are broken down into bite-sized chapters and allow you to refer back anytime. Most classes also include printable takeaways so you can keep your new knowledge on hand or easily share with your partner and caregivers.

Tinyhood’s online parenting classes were created for parents who:

- Are having their first child and need to learn everything, from swaddling to CPR
- Are having their second, third, or fourth child and need to refresh their knowledge on key parenting topics
- Are busy and don’t want to spend hours attending in-person parenting classes at their local hospital
- Want expert insight on breastfeeding, nutrition, and more — at a fraction of the cost
- Are looking for content they can refer back to anytime

Classes include:

- Baby 101: a comprehensive course for expectant parents that want to learn about breastfeeding, sleep, safety, and newborn care
- Potty Training, Discipline, Baby-Led Weaning.
- Infant Safety: the essential infant CPR refresher class that reviews key skills and helps you stay calm in the event of an emergency
- Breastfeeding 101: the ultimate breastfeeding class covering best practices and common challenges
- And so much more!

You can also use Tinyhood to connect with other parents in your area. Share and receive tips on pediatricians, nannies, daycare, and more. We know from experience that a tight community of fellow parents can make your parenting journey more meaningful (and fun).

What our parents say:
"The course was very useful. I watched many videos before the baby was born but found the most value in referencing the resources as needed in the first few weeks with the baby. You just can’t fully grasp some of the concepts until you’re in the throws of it."

“I was feeling very anxious and unsure how I would do everything when it came to breastfeeding. Now I am feeling much more confident and that I will be able to pull this off”

“I actually had to do [choking CPR] on my 7 month old this week—two days after watching that portion of the class—and only knew what to do because of the video. I’m convinced my baby is here today because of that class.”

“These classes made me feel so confident going into baby led weaning!! Thank you!”

“Clear and quick reminders of the best and up-to-date way to save a child. I've recommended it to many friends and family members.”

Wish I had this app when my first child was born!

I love the experts feature on this app. It’s a huge timesaver. With my first child, I googled and asked other moms about breastfeeding, baby sleep, development, etc. I wasted a lot of time, and I usually found answers not very specific to my situation. After almost five years, with my second, there are a lot of things I’ve forgotten about taking care of a baby. Along with learning a lot from the Tinyhood classes and on-demand videos, I love being able to ask the experts about specific problems and concerns (and getting answers right away!). This app is a lifesaver!

Terrible as a forum

This app is extremely limited as a mobile way to interact with the forum part of Tinyhood. It shows a limited number of notifications—even if the badge says you have 24 new notifications, when you open the app it will only show you the last 20. And if you click on a notification on your iPhone lock screen it just opens the app but doesn’t bring you to the actual post that the notification was for, it just brings you to the home screen and you have to scroll through everything trying to find it (assuming you even remember what hood it was in and what the post title was!). The Profile page has a header for your recent posts but there is never anything under it, so there is no easy way to check for comments on your posts—again you have to scroll through everything. If you post something to the Marketplace and it sells, there is no way to mark it as sold from the app. Your options are to report your own post (?!) or delete it. The only thing this app is good for (other than the money-making courses) is for direct message notifications. And even then sometimes hours pass between the message being sent and the notification being received—so if you’re coordinating anything time sensitive just use text messages instead of this crap.

Content is helpful, app is finicky

As a soon-to-be first time mother of twins, the content has been super helpful in preparing for my boys to arrive! That said, the app is super finicky to the extent that I find myself getting distracted. Videos won’t always load (even when I have full WiFi access), and I can’t always fast forward a video if I had to stop in the middle - meaning I’m spending a lot of time rewatching content I’ve already seen. After I complete a video, sometimes it shows a check mark to remind me it is completed, but it’s inconsistent. And closing the handouts to go back to the course list takes you all the way back to the top of the list... it can be hard to figure out where you left off. Overal, happy with the courses but wish the app experience was better.
