I was waiting to write this review until the latest update came out to see if any major changes happened, but unfortunately there aren’t so many. I was really hoping that the asset or work order query results would be stretched to the full width of the screen instead of just a small part of the right hand side of the screen. I am about to roll out this app to my technicians and was trying to decide on a mobile device (IPhone or IPad) because the information isn’t very large and is squeezed into such a tiny space. Disappointing. Other than cleaning up the menu tab and a fancy new app icon, there isn’t much improvement that I have seen yet. Perhaps a bit more exploring will prove otherwise. The app is good, but not as user friendly as I’d like to see. Some of my old timers will be a bit confused with the new fangled technology as they are with the desk top version. Overall the app is pretty decent. Not great, but good.
Really needs more development.
I use this in a hospital environment. While our dashboards are built to our needs by onsite staff on the PC side of things, the sidekick app is pressingly difficult to work with day to day. Screen space utilization is poor, and being unable to view different types of work requests in tabs like on PC. With the sheer amount of requests I deal with normally, ‘My Work Requests’ being all that’s available makes quite a mess for me. Filtering and sorting is quite clunky, and not being able to query for requests by assigned user (only time charges) really makes this a non-solution for being on the go.
Two (2) updates this past month after 2 years but the only difference I noticed is a new app icon and the magnifying glass increased in size along with the start & stop clocks decreasing in size. Also, the screen while in portrait mode (on my mini iPad) is not functioning properly. I never experienced any problems before the last two updates. Everything seem to function flawlessly before support for new screen sizes.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
