I’ve been through my fair share of task management apps, but this one has stood out as a clear favorite. My old method involved basic notes apps for checklists, but those always ended up feeling cluttered, with no easy way to organize or hide completed tasks. This app fixes all of that in such an intuitive way. What I love most is how simple yet functional it is. You can start using it immediately without being bombarded by upgrade requests or confusing setups. The free version has plenty of features to get organized. I especially like how I can create multiple lists and use subtasks to keep everything neat without feeling overwhelmed. For me, seeing everything in one place but still organized is a huge plus. The design is minimalist but so well thought-out. Adding, reordering, and crossing off tasks feels natural and fast. I love that you can remove completed tasks with just a quick shake, which keeps things tidy without any extra effort. I haven’t fully explored how it syncs with other devices yet, but having access across platforms will definitely be a bonus. There are also some cool extras like color coding and focus tools for when you need to dig deeper into productivity. I upgraded to the paid version to try out more features, but even the free version has more to offer than most apps I’ve tried. If you’re looking for a clean, easy-to-use app that still has powerful features, this is definitely worth a try!

I’m fairly new to the app, but I’ve tried many apps and planners over the years. One of the simplest things that has worked for me has just been keeping a Notes page with checklists in separate chunks. But there were some limitations to that because things you finish don’t move to the button and it can be cumbersome and cluttered. As soon as you download this app, you can enjoy the simplicity right away. You are not immediately hit with any kind of push for premium upgrades and can use enough of the features to benefit from it. I like that I can sort of keep multiple lists nicely organized on one page by using the subtask feature because out of sight is out of mind for me. It has a really minimalist nice view. And I love the intuitive user experience of how you can quickly add tasks, switch between lists, reorder items, see all lists at a glance, cross off items, and shake away old finished tasks. I will see how it syncs with the laptop, because it’s important to me to be able to access the lists from multiple devices. This is a great less-is-more app that still gives you the option of using other neat features like focus tools and color coding. I did pay for the upgrade to check out the other features and support the app, but even the free version was better than mostly everything else I’ve tried as a mix of digital handiness with written list simplicity!

  • Good, simple checklist app

I always have a lot on my plate, so I maintain a detailed, long-running checklist in another app, which is great for the big picture, but gets a bit overwhelming to use from day to day. I usually end up jotting a shorter to-do list on a Post-it note or mini legal pad of the few things I need to focus on and get done. So as my creative work shifts more and more to coffee shops (love that iPad Pro!) I was hoping I could bring this into the digital realm as well.MinimaList seems to fit the bill nicely. It’s not a feature-heavy to-do list with nested checkboxes and tons of metadata; it reads like a simple scratchpad you can cross things off as you get them done. The paradigm of gestures and all the settings take a short time to get used to, but once they’re in place it works great as a simple daily checklist. I have it synced on both my iPhone and my iPad Pro and use both equally, and while I often launch the app itself, the widget is just as useful to check what’s next or to tick off items as they get done.I get the sense from the settings page that there are some functionalities I haven’t figured out yet; time will tell, but for now it does just what I want it to do. I haven’t used the pomodoro functionality yet, but I use the pomodoro method from time to time so I’ll have to check that out soon. Great app, looking forward to seeing it develop!

  • Helpful app! Great design

The list is condensed nicely so you can see many items at once. Once you learn the hand movements like swiping this way or that.. it’s very enjoyable to use! The tutorials are very helpful and short and sweet as you would expect from a minimal design. I really like the name too. I’m a big fan. I don’t usually pay for apps but this one is worth it. It’s really helping me stay on track with my tasks. I tried a couple other apps that were too big, ugly, and clunky and had distracting ads.. I’ve been accomplishing much more each day by making lists in my phone, and this is the best list/checkmark app I’ve found so far. I’m more likely to see/use my list in my phone than on a piece of paper, sadly. I know this from experience and from really really trying with paper ones. I was surprised that there wasn’t an option to put checkmarks to mark a task completed - instead of strikethrough; since the app icon is a checkmark. Maybe the option is there and I just haven’t found it yet. The hand gesture tips/wizard pop up gradually and seemingly randomly after you get the hang of each thing. And I think there might still be more features than I’ve been shown so far. Anyway, good job to the people that made it, I don’t usually write reviews. I like the desktop icon too 👏🏼👍🏼

I got this app a few months ago in the beginning of my journey to organize my life. I used it here and there but never fully got into it. I came back to it not too long ago and realized that the vip features were able to be bought for 5.99 one time fee. I personally love when they do that because i hate subscription because i never remember i have them. (why i kind of need this app in the first place) You can make a list delete and add things with ease. you can add widgets to your home screen which lets you see you list very clearly and quickly add to it if needed. the purchase gives you access to all the abilities they have and let’s you add all the things you want. you can also make multiple lists for different things. set different times for things to come up or a certain schedule. The free version is great and i would still use it both versions work incredibly and have a great interface thats simple to use the “shortcuts” take a bit to remember but regardless a very user friendly app that has a lot of great features they also have many other apps like budgeting and habit tracking trying those out now but this one i would highly recommend

  • Better than any other task manager for my needs

I have been searching for a way to manage my mowing schedule at my rental properties (I do the mowing). Some grow at different paces, so they all need a custom repeat which also gets adjusted based on the weather. Finally something that properly records when I last completed it, & will allow me to adjust the repeat without screwing up the past ones. Easy to use once you get used to it. A few suggestions to get this to 5stars:-do not cancel out a task/reset the timer until it is marked as completed. Sometimes it just doesn’t happen the day it’s scheduled to. -not sure if it does this, but the repeat should be based one when it’s completed when it is a custom time frame. If set to every 10 days, it should repeat 10 days after it is completed, not the day it should have be (or have the option to). Maybe it does do this; haven’t used the app for very long, & the repeat situation above hasn’t given me the opportunity….-It would be great to be able to copy tasks-the whole thing, not just the title of a completed task. Many of the settings I want to be the same and the title is often what needs to be different. -minor detail, but being able to do things retroactively. Like if I forget to mark a task as complete until the next day.

  • I’m surprised

It is intuitive. I bet the creator of the app uses it, because this is very refined. At first I was just into the simple main page without any complications, but I’ve been finding the other features to be quite nice the more I use it. Also I use this over Onenote for quick stuff even though I an a Onenote fanboy, because this app MinimaList opens on a dime like within half a second and I don’t have to navigate through menus to get to typing the note. That is important to me since I can quickly forget what I was going to write......P......I really like the reverse pinch to quickly see all other lists, and the swipe from edge to immediately get to the next list. So freaking quick and smooth! The pull down to add a note feels good. The option to change fonts and the background is something else I like though I’m not sure if I’ll use it as I seem to be kickin it real nice with the dark mode so far..........P.............I haven’t used the Stats page yet. However maybe after a few months of using the app I will find that the statistics re my tasks and successes help to give perspective. They do say to know history or you are doomed to repeat it after all........P........Anyways, I’m loving it so far, my thanks to the creator of the app!

  • Simple & Effective

As a university student, keeping track of tasks, assignments, and events is incredibly important. I have a physical planner I use for my assignments and events, but I am constantly looking for a good app to use for writing down all my tasks and other stuff, like grocery lists. Other apps are either too busy and difficult to adjust to, functional but unappealing to the eye, or nearly perfect but requires a ridiculous monthly fee. I used this app once and fell in love. It only took a couple of days for me to break down and pay for the lifetime membership of around $8, which I found reasonable. (You can also pay in monthly or yearly payments (both very affordable), but I found the $8 an easier choice.) The interface is simple, but appealing, and acts similar to if I was just writing with a pad and pen. You can edit the theme, there's a timer for concentration, notifications, and you can sync with your other Apple devices, too. One thing I ask to the developers: can you please add the ability to move around the individual group pages? Sometimes I want different pages to be next to each other, but currently there's only the ability to delete them. A small fix, but fantastic app overall!

  • Simplicity That Actually Works

The Minimalist app stands out by doing the opposite of most productivity tools—it removes all the noise. The interface is clean, intuitive, and beautifully simple, focusing purely on helping you list, organize, and complete your tasks. There are no unnecessary buttons or complicated settings; everything flows naturally with smooth gestures and a calming layout that makes planning your day feel effortless rather than stressful.Functionally, Minimalist covers the essentials without overwhelming you. You can create task lists, set reminders, and even use a built-in Pomodoro timer to maintain focus. The app syncs across devices in its premium version, and while it lacks deep integrations or project management tools, its elegance lies in that very limitation—it’s made for individuals who value clarity over clutter. It’s lightweight, privacy-focused, and refreshingly fast compared to feature-heavy alternatives.Ultimately, Minimalist succeeds because it embraces restraint. It’s not trying to replace your calendar or team workspace; it’s simply there to keep you grounded and organized. Whether you’re a student, professional, or someone trying to declutter their digital life, Minimalist is a reminder that productivity doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective.

  • Great Productivity App

This is a great productivity app! I'm a grad student with ADD/ADHD, so my phone is both a godsend-of-information and a time-wasting-curse. What I love about this app is that it sends me a notification to setup my to do list everyday, and it syncs with my calendar so my calendar schedule populates as a task to accomplish. The issues I've had with other productivity apps is that I'll write things down and forget that I wrote them. This app works around that issue for me by displaying a notification bubble with the number of tasks I have left to complete. As you complete a task and check it off your to do list, the number goes down and until the list is complete. I hate seeing notifications, so this really helps me get my tasks complete. Also there is a "focus mode" that allows you to tap the task you want to focus on for a set period of time (5-50 minutes). When that feature is activated, the app sends a pop up message every time you pickup your phone telling you to put down your phone you should be working on your task. I mindlessly pickup my phone to scroll through social media apps or check my emails, and that reminder helps me refocus my mind on what I should be working on.
