TODAY Show 12+

I am a long time Today watcher starting when I was at home with my babies....who are now in their 40’s. I enjoy the news and other segments. I have enjoyed most of the hosts over the decades but none more than Savannah Guthrie. So earlier this year, I was delighted to learn she would be hosting one of the Presidential debates. Words can’t adequately describe my shock and disappointment when I observed her treatment of the current President. Her rudeness and condescending approach left me to believe there was only one explanation...other than her being stone cold drunk. She would rather behave like a blind and ruthless Democrat with no scruples rather than a dignified, well educated debate chairman. I do not condone President Trump’s behavior many times.....but his rudeness looked amateurish compared to Savanah’s “belly up to the bar” rants and raves! I am embarrassed for her parents. I refused to watch Today the following days so I do not know if she gave a nation wide apology to her audience with her lesson to all the children of our country on how NOT to speak to the President of the United States. Shame on the Today show and especially shame on Savanah. Apparently, there are no boundaries of rudeness on the Today Show. The President won when it came to self-control that night!

These two shows have become my morning staples during retirement, and, especially now during the Pandemic. For me, it is the hosts that are my favorite part. I simply like them-all.
The two shows keep me current with news and current trends. I get lots of gift ideas. Being an avid reader, I love segments on books. Jenna Bush’s book club has consistently excellent books.
If I have one criticism, it is the amount of country music covered; I am a lover of old school R/B/funk. I try to be open to other genres, but, Country seems to get a lot of play on these shows-particularly during the 4th hour.

When you watch the Today Show people smile. At least I smile. It’s like watching a family loving and caring for each other.
They put their whole heart into news reported. They laugh together and cry together. They share their life with the world. They are real people. People don’t feel like they are untouchable. They come from all over the world to be with the Today Shows people.
I’m super glad the show has a variety of news each hour. Not just news but useful information for people of all ages. They bring the world closer to us.
