Errors Abound
This is a handy and interesting app, however, it is full of ERRORS and OMISSIONS.
You will find that titles of ships, for example, are missing. Here is just one entry that demonstrates the problem (from November 13):
1941 – World War II: The aircraft carrier HMS is torpedoed by , sinking the following day.
(The torpedoed ship was the HMS Ark Royal which was sunk by the German U-Boat 81.)
Good but
Enjoy seeing all the information on events, births, deaths, and holidays. Nice to see John Madden and Betty White, listed within 24 hours of their passing.
That being said, noticed that January calendar is way off as the 1st was on Wednesday when it was on Saturday this year. Hope developers can fix this annoying bug as I use your calendar to plan my activities for the week and month.
Looking for new updates in 2022
Overly Complicated
This app's biggest sin is only functioning in portrait mode. That’s not how I hold my iPad. But even if I could get past that, there’s still the problem of having to make several clicks before being overwhelmed with long lists of events in micro print. The point of an app like this was to have someone do some judicious editing to point out interesting and important bits of history. This app tries to give you everything. No editing, and in such tiny print you can’t read it. Epic fail.
