Ratings and Reviews
Stop rotating the map!!
What is the point of having a loading screen to choose your park, zoom into it and then rotate when you get to close to the other park trying to go the edges of the park you are in? Completely disorienting!!
Also not user friendly. Save the park and settings for the day until the user changes it. And make it easier to go back and forth to the map. Too many screens you push a button and it’s completely unclear how to go back to where you were.
Lastly the entry request needs to go! Try once and have to choose a time spot and if declined you can’t try any other times the rest of the day? Why? Make it first come first served or random with a comeback time. But it makes no sense to decline entry to all shows when there are plenty of later shows available.
I cannot believe this app is created by a big company
The user interface is counter intuitive. I was trying to rely on the map to navigate, but if I accidentally touched the fantasy spring side, it rotated 120 degree. I had to find which direction I was heading to again. Once I reserved a ride, I had no clue the location of the ride on map. The reservation page sometimes didn’t open and popped out error message “ssl cert not available”. I guess the guy who coded this error message assumed kid must know what ssl cert is. It must be too hard for the developer to catch the exception and raise exception with more user friendly error message. Apparently the booking feature doesn’t scale. It asked me to wait for 20 mins before I can access booking page. Once I opened the page, there was only two restaurants to reserve. This is not even an app for general public. It is a shame on the developers that the app cannot handle to load from just people inside the park.
Why so bad?
When the app first starts, it sits loading something for a long time. You can push skip, but if you do then it will ask you to reload later. But doing that is still faster than waiting for the initial load.
The map doesn’t let you navigate to the attraction you want. If you click on the attraction it just shows it on the map, but that’s it. You have to look at the horribly cartoonish map and see where you’re at and essentially guess which way to go to get there.
Also the app does require location on, even if you just want to look at the map for reference. It also wants Bluetooth on. With the extra screen use trying to figure out where to go and the GPS and Bluetooth actively being used, my battery barely lasted the day. How convenient that Disney will rent you a phone charger.
The map flipping thing is absurd. They need separate maps for both parks. Don’t show me the map and attractions for the other park I’m not even in. Unless I go back out and select it. Most people aren’t going to see both parks on the same day, so it makes no sense.
It would be so easy to fix these issues, but the ratings suggest they don’t want to.
