Tomato One is a simple application for increasing personal productivity. Work for 25 minutes, then take a 5 minute break and repeat.

This application has all the basics and nothing else:

- Short & long focus sessions
- Breaks
- Charts with 2 weeks history
- Configuration for hiding dock icon, interrupting user and showing timer in the menubar
- AppleScript support. Commands are "start", "stop" and "start break".

Helpful and Convenient just a coupe things

I love having a simple timer that automatically restarts. Sometimes I need it for a break and sometimes it is a good way to make sure Im not distracted. I can know it wont be for longer than 25 minutes.

But when it comes to utilizing it for breaks and keeping track of progress, I would like to be able to reset the tomatoes. I have to uninstall and redownload to get blank tomatoes. When I have marathon study sessions like for finals week I need to know how many 25 minute intervals plus breaks I went through without having to write down when I started. Knowing 3 intervals went by helps to guage my pace and progress at a glance. If I have to use something else to help me keep track then I am now distracted. This app is supposed to let you do everything at a glance, the auto start feature is great for that, but let me be able to restart the tomatoes, see the breaks or just include a counter and duration option.

Thanks! Great app.

almost A+

This app has improved my productivity a lot—everything is a little bit easier when you only have to work in 25-minute chunks!—but in the new version, they took away the dots that appeared after each chunk. I preferred having the visual of the completed “tomatoes” on the timer itself instead of having to click on the stats (which otherwise are kind of useless), in part because it was aesthetically pleasing and also in part because it didn’t require any extra clicking. I’d love to bring that back. Everything else, though, works as any timer should.

It was working until a month ago (El Capitan)

I had it all spring quarter 2017. It was working as it was suppose to until late May/early June. I’m not entirely too sure why.

It unexpectedly quits and a pop up window to report it opens as the timer ends. I usually just reopen the app whenever it asks. It does this no matter what time I set for it including changing the short and long breaks. It just keeps shutting down.

Another user that also has El Capitan had this issue. I hope there is an update to fix this. It’s not continuous and I usually have to set up my small timer on my fitbit whenever this happens.
