Description

Welcome to Tome, the minimalist gamified to-do list app. Set tasks and earn EXP. Level up and reward yourself.
Only you know the best way to motivate you!

Tome is a gamified to-do list app that motivates you to be productive.
Set your own tasks and earn experience upon completion of those tasks.
Earn rewards you set for yourself every time you level up.
Only you know the best way to motivate you!

Use Siri to create and complete quests. Tome also stores quests on iCloud for cross-device synchronization.

QUESTS
Each quest type gives a different amount of experience based on importance and effort.

- Main quests are important and/or urgent tasks. They give the most experience.
- Side quests are smaller or less urgent tasks.
- Daily quests are tasks the user should be doing every day. At the end of every day they repopulate, so you can cross them off your list and the quest will be active again tomorrow.
- Weekly quests are tasks you try to do once a week. At the end of every week they repopulate, so you can cross them off your list and the quest will be active again tomorrow.

Use swipe, tap, or voice actions to edit, delete, or complete quests and earn experience!

REWARDS
- Earn a reward every time you level up!
- Keep minor rewards as smaller rewards, with Milestone rewards being larger.
- Add whatever you think might help you stay motivated to be productive!

For example, a food-motivated user might use “ice cream” as a minor reward and a trip to their favorite restaurant as a milestone reward.

SCALING
- Get a classic gaming feel by setting the level scaling to hard, which increases the amount of experience needed for the next level by a small amount.
- Level scaling can be changed at any time.

Keep the scaling at hard to slowly wean yourself off of needing rewards to be productive, or swap back to normal whenever you feel like the level pacing is satisfactory.

SIRI ACTIONS
- Say “Add Quest” or “Create Quest” to add quests on the fly.
- Say “Complete Quest” or “Mark Quest As Complete” to complete a quest and earn experience without needing to open Tome.

Exactly what I was looking for

I have always found notes apps too simple for taking down my tasks, and task managers are 1) too complex and 2) hidden behind paywalls. I’m sorry but I shouldn’t have to sync to twelve different apps and subscribe to the economist just to get a task list going.

At the same time, video games seem to have solved this problem decades ago. It’s so simple. One journal, sorting quests into categories of importance, that you can choose to complete at your discretion. Why couldn’t anybody just make an app like that??

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED. Simple, effective, exactly what you’re looking for. Enough features to make it customizable, simple enough to understand. AND they only charged 99c to take away ads? Easiest payment choice of my life.

I cannot recommend this app enough. Elegant and easy.

To the developers: I appreciated how you listened to previous feedback. To follow that, I think the ability to see task descriptions from the home screen would be great. For ex, just like we can tap to reveal quests in a category as a drop down, you could allow us to tap the quests to reveal descriptions as a sub-drop down. For me this would make the descriptions more useful.

Right now tapping the task opens the edit screen so there might have to be some re-mapping of touch actions (you could hold to open edit screen? idk) Either way thanks for the great app!

So close to perfect!

Very good app especially for someone like me but the setting changes don’t save.

Hey Brynyoss,
Glad you're enjoying the app, and sorry about the issue! The latest update should fix this, thanks for bringing it to my attention!
