Tome: social reading tracker ١٧+

I love it here 🥹

This app has quickly become the only social media I spend any real time on. Everyone here is so welcoming, kind, inclusive, wholesome. There are book clubs and memes and users making library cards for each other…. the vibes are giving girls braiding each other’s hair at a sleepover… immaculate. I have seen almost 0 negativity (what I have seen was quickly nipped in the bud) and instead just feel like I’m part of a community. I’ve added at least 40 new books to my TBR, joined 2 book clubs, and have gotten to talk ACOTAR fan theories galore! I’ve probably read more because I get excited to share my thoughts with the Tomies!

Also, the developers really care about the preferences and feedback of the community. They host weekly town halls and are very responsive to bugs, questions, and suggestions. The founder, Nick, used to work at a certain other *social network* and has made it his mission to build a social app that is different, committed to no ads, no billionaire meddling, and no selling of data, EVER.

Incredible app! The best decision I ever made was a several months before the app released when I chose to learn what the app was and to pre order it. I have been searching for a place to talk about books and have an amazing community of people who love to read as much as me and the same books as me! The creators thank you so much you are all incredible people and I wish you all the best! This app keeps getting better and better I never in a billion infinite years could have done anything remotely close to have incredible this app is! Great idea and a little frustrating

I love this app for the service it provides. Having a social media app focused around. Books is fantastic for an avid reader like me! I do find many elements of the user interface to be clunky and frustrating. I feel like the learning curve on this app was a little bit steeper than I’m used to with a social media app. I’m also frustrated that I can’t easily tell if someone I am following is following me back. I would like to be able to easily see that data when I go to their page. I’m also very confused about all the events and stickers and what not that I keep seeing posted about. Perhaps a tutorial would be useful? It seems like the app assumes at this point that users know what’s going on, but new users who weren’t there for the beta version do not know what’s going on, and I constantly feel like I’m left out of a clique in grade school lol. Over time, as things are improved, I’m sure this will be a five star app.
