Stuck in tutorial

Animation is stiff. But my main problem is in the tutorial, after getting the pug and leveling up it’s obedience, it asks you to enter a show and the competition page freezes, the only thing interactive is settings for sound and vibration. The rest of the page is frozen.

Bland AND Incorrect breeds

Let me start with saying that I’m a “dog snob”. I do these sports in real life, but I wasn’t expecting any crazy accuracy with the game.

The animations are real rough… and I mean REAL rough. I was willing to look past it though to see if the game was any good past that. It’s not. There’s no interaction with the dogs outside of just pressing a button to tell them to go do the thing. The tutorial has a pic of a woman as the person giving the tutorial but you don’t get any sort of info on who she is, no name or nothing, and with it being a “real picture” it feels a bit weird to me. The dogs look really bad too, nothing like they’re supposed to look like. They give you 3 dogs and one is a Corgi… there are 2 different types of corgis, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi (the most common one) and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Pembroke’s don’t have long tails, but Cardigans do. Cardigans do not come in the tan and white color that Pembrokes come in. The corgi they give you, they just label it “Welsh Corgi” and it’s colored like a Pembroke but has a long tail. This is the dog snob of me coming through, but I just couldn’t get past that at all.

TLDR - it’s really REALLY boring and the animations and aesthetics are atrocious. I had more fun typing this review than playing the game.

Has Potential 🐕

Let me start off by saying I LOVE this game. I think it’s great, and has a lot of potential. But, at the moment, it isn’t quite there yet. The game itself is okay gameplay wise; it’s not as interactive as I’d like when it comes to our dogs, since it’s a lot of sitting back and waiting for things to finish. I wish there was more of an online feature (competing against other players’ dogs, etc) since it feels kind of stale with just AI dogs in competitions. I can really see this game going places, but it definitely needs quite a bit of work to get there. I do recommend it though, because it’s fantastic, but don’t go in expecting a game like Nintendogs just yet.
