The best app to use world wide.

I have been using this app for two years and continue to be amazed with the performance and improvements. Not only does it out perform other apps/gps models in the United States, I have had excellent results in the Swiss Alps, the highlands of Scotland, and areas of Northern Ireland.
More important to me is the support. When there has been an issue (as in my trip to Switzerland) I received an immediate response and remedy from the group in Spokane. The issue was minor, but the support terrific. One must realize with such a dynamic evolving program there might be minor issues. The response is always thorough and prompt. Many of the hikers with us in Europe were "wowed" by the performance. I'm looking forward to the new improved "map download" changes. My personal problem is that the program is capable of doing much more--I'm underutilizing it. I recommend the app to anyone leading hikes, going on hikes, or planning hikes.

Hands-Down The Best Mapping App

The app is responsive, and easy to use and makes a really wonderful planning companion for the excellent iOS app. The array of data that can be configured in the map overlays is the most valuble part, espically with a Pro or Hunt Subscription. I can easily cross-refrence the trusty old USGS quads with newer USFS maps, and the really excellent Natural Atlas. With just a few clicks I can overlay GPS traces of USFS trails and roads, and with the route creation tools, can chain a series of these trails together to create a route for multiple-day backpacking trips.

I have the Hunt subscription for the new private and public land parcel overlays. These are very accurate, and help avoid trespassing in places where fencelines are either non-existant, or way off of the land boundaries. And, I don't need a seperate app and paid subscription to get this data!

The Mac app UI does feel a little odd – I think this is because the Mac App is based on the iPad app. You are using a UI that is optimized for touch on a computer with precision input devices and a full keyboard. But this is a minor niggle, as the UI is better than any of the alternatives.

I've been using this app and the iOS version for years now, and I don't expect that to change. It's great, and the subscriptions are well worth the cost if you do much map-related activities.

Excellent Topgraphical Tracking Maping Cource Software

This is one of the best topographical centric applications out there! Ive found it very useful in setting up a cource on my macbook and then using the Iphone and my apple watch to keep on the cource. I also use it to track some of the random hikes I take. I like the line of site ability as It gives me a really good idea for what time frames I need to consider. I like that I can identify mountains, ranges and POI's in the distance. One thing I really like is that I can import my Garmen Inreach and Inreach-mini date as I think this app gives you much better results in revieing past and future adventures.
