ToSee - Smart Camera 4+

I set up this doorbell a couple of days before I actually installed it next to my front door. It seemed to work fine, only sending me notifications when I moved it from under the towel it was under. After I affixed it to the outside of our home it also seemed fine. Then it started sending motion detection notifications about every five minutes. It increased to every minute, sometimes more than one per minute. I bought a new SD card, 32G Class 10, installed it, and again all is fine, for about 18 hours. Then at 9:45 am it starts with notifications about every five minutes, increasing to every minute. This is ridiculous. I’ll be searching for either a new doorbell or app, or both, soon.

This app is so frustrating, just like the doorbell unit itself. We get a notification about nothing hourly, yet the camera is too slow to recognize a delivery being left on the porch and never notifies about that. There is no instruction/troubleshooting guide for the app at all. I want to know what the “data usage alert” does in settings, but the internet can’t even tell me that.
The doorbell unit itself has been out for less than 2 years and already the battery can’t hold a charge for more than 2 weeks. The app doesn’t notify when the battery dies. I simply have to realize the annoying hourly notifications stopped some number of days ago. We’re shopping around for something else. This app and the unit it goes with are both awful.

I’ve had this app for about three years. It seems to work ok except for one thing. It can’t display the notification count correctly. For example, I have 0 notifications to review. They’re all deleted. However, the app displays a count of 127. When I open the app, of course there are none. Close the app and I still see a count of 127. Go in and out the count rises to 128. Clear out the timeline, and the app still shows 128. Etc, etc.

Before writing the review, I have tried everything I can think of to get an answer to the “problem.” But I’ve had no luck.

My advice? Hopefully the doorbell you choose doesn’t use this app.
