***Use the App to find ETFs, stocks and funds that have high Dividend yields. Web charts flatline such charts, since they are price only.

***A simple way to find your ticker syntax is to look it up via {U.S. listed tickers do not require .US extension, eg MSFT and are both OK; SAP.xetra, 6752.tse for Panasonic, DJI.indx for Dow Jones index etc.}

-Backtest your portfolio on the fly (stress testing) with total returns that include dividends / bond interest. See how your stocks would do say from 1/2007-3/2009 or 1/2020-3/2020

-Designed by a Finance professor and a development team from Canada, Germany and Switzerland, this app has had thousands of downloads since 2012 (free for my students), pls. see or for the idea, research and examples.

-The problem being rectified by the App has also been written up in the WSJ (Jul 2011).

-No tables, numbers, dividends, interest, splits or distributions to download - enter the ticker, the Start and End dates, swipe. Done! Allows comparison of up to 8 tickers, at a time.

-Total Returns are useful for calculating income tax and investment taxes too. The App also lets you compare a security with itself so you instantly see the return differential. Touch the radio button on the output screen for 'price only' returns.

Essential app

The ability to look at the total return is “game-changer” when it comes to comparing mutual funds or individual stocks. This is particularly true when comparing equities to bonds where adding returns - dividends and interest respectively - can change the performance characteristics substantially. In addition, and unlike many other app and websites, this app allows you to define the time range you want to look at. I find this feature incredibly helpful. One feature the app does not have that I think would useful, is the ability to compare funds where you add a monthly contribution, as this would more closely reflect what most people do in their 401k and such. Still, even without this feature, this is by far the best financial app available for comparing one-time purchases.

The best stock market app of all

Total return is at or near the top of lists of stock, bond and fund market metrics. It’s hard to make good investment decisions without it. However it is almost universally ignored in the zillions of pages produced by professional market analysts. This app dredges up historical prices and dividend/interest payments to calculate total returns for over 10,000 securities. The results are displayed on interactive comparative charts that show both total and price only returns. The user interface is one of the best I’ve seen, avoiding strange and unfamiliar symbols often found in today's apps.

Thanks for the feedback.
We just wanted to focus on displaying the dividend delta.
Occasionally we post charts @TotalreturnC feel free to post one with the handle and we will retweet it. 👍🏻📉📈

Only app for dividend inclusive Total returns

This is a great app for long term investors and advisors. Have tried many apps but only one to give and compare TOTAL RETURNS on ETFs, Mutual funds, global stocks. Thrilled with app, intuitive interface, very useful. It could use a “clear all tickers” button. Glad it’s back after a year. Helps me unmask investment selections that show full impact of bond interest and stock dividends, that most websites fail to show.

*The Jan 2020 update is subscription free🌿
** International tickers 🌎 can be looked up via search box at
*** Must hit ‘Return’ on keypad after entering tickers, only after that *swipe* left for the charts
**** A cool feature is time-slice comparisons. So see how your assets did say from Jan2007 to June2010 Etc. Stress test.
