Error Failing Communication
I can only give 3 stars for the workability on the app simply because of this error message and the unsuccessful connections although I can't be sure it's fully the apps fault at this point in time. I do give a full 5 Stars for effort though.
I don't know much about this"Error Failing Communication" so I can't blame it on any one thing. It is happening so I'm providing my experience with it. Also, I have found that when the error message come up, waiting a while SOMETIMES produces the panel screen in the background. And when that happens, I tap okay and can use the keypad remotely from the iPhone. A little weird but almost understandable from my angle.
Please know, since my previous reviews, I am now connecting with more success.
Please look further into this new issue too and also, please get the Java OS X incompatibility resolved. Still major plugin issues with that.
Still can only access from a PC vs my Mac. I know this because I was able to connect to the keypad from a friends PC. Since then I fired up an old PC of mine. This is not good for me as I don't use a PC any longer other than for this. Belt clip for a PC laptop is funny but, I think not.
I was informed that both issues are known so, please continue working on them.
Works reasonably well, but...
The app functions as described. (at least for the basic functions). I have one minor and one major issue. Minor-it takes two separate 4-digit codes to log on. What is this? Amateur night for programmers? Major-It takes 30 seconds, on average, just to connect; some times much longer, and on occasion it just times-out. Once connected, the response time is good, 1 to 2 seconds or so. The bottom line is that the app seems to work reasonably well; however, the computer systems servicing the internet connection needs to be updated.
Used this app for a couple years and while it was slow it usually worked until I lost my phone and now it doesn't and I've tried it on multiple iPhones. My wife's iPhone still works but nothing I've tried works. I've reset my mobile account on the web and no luck, everything loads fine just will not relay arm and disarm functions. Honeywell tech support is useless as they don't respond to an emails. Had the alarm company out who set up the system and they didn't have any suggestions except to try and sell us the upgrade to 2.0. While I might do that I have no reassurance the performance will be better and more reliable. Seriously Honeywell, you basically abandoned thus app and there are a lot of users having issues that need to be addressed.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
