Writers rejoice: never lose an idea again. Transom has helped thousands of writers capture and organize their thoughts on the fly.
Simply create a note (aka "Thought") and tag it. Then search by tag or keyword to quickly find the right Thought later on.
Once you've used a Thought, archive it to declutter your Thoughts list.
Questions or feedback? We'd love to hear from you: firstname.lastname@example.org.
(Apologies and respect to the great Joseph Heller, from whose "Catch-22" and we stole excerpts to fill the App-Store screenshots.)
Hi, writers! A couple of small updates in this version: first, the word count of each Thought will display just above the keyboard while editing it. Why? We believe in writing at least 100 words per day, and this will help you know when you've hit your daily goal. (Pro tip: you can turn this off in the main menu.) Next, you'll see each Thought's tags displayed above the keyboard -- this will save you a few taps when trying to find that specific Thought.
Good luck -- and, as always, please keep the feedback flowing to email@example.com.

Very handy app
I love this app because it's everything I need to stay organized and on top of my sometimes random, sometimes structured thoughts. It's also a very simple and clean interface, which I enjoy, because it doesn't distract you from your task of translating and capturing your ideas.
Update: the most recent update made an already focused, slick, utilitarian app even better. Sometimes app makers hit the mark on simple, but fail to make it an enjoyable experience. This app does not fall into that trap.
Almost perfect / update
I was looking for the right notebook app and having no luck, until I happened upon Transom and realized those other, more cluttered apps aren’t what I need at all. Transom removes the friction between your thoughts and recording them, making it fluid, easy, and useful. After all, the best app is not always the most complex or feature-heavy, it’s the one you’ll actually use. For me, Transom is it. Why not 5 stars? Well, very little in life is perfect. Still, this app might achieve it if it allowed exports by tag (rather than the whole shebang), and if it were updated for the most recent iOS and phones. (I am a bit concerned it’s become abandonware).
Update: not going to knock it a star or anything - it’s still a good product - but I’m not interested in creating a new login (the reasons behind the login are not personally convincing enough for me) yet it appears I can’t liberate my data without first doing so. Which is kinda sucky.
Update 2: upon getting in, notes were all doubled up. Also: no apparent way to change associated email / password once set (although I presume you can change the password, at least, if you use the ‘forgot’ link - the email I guess you’re stuck with).
Developer Response ,
Thanks for your feedback! I promise Transom is not abandonware, and our *very* small team is hard at work on the next update to the app. (Alas, export by tag won't be a part of that release, but I do hope to make Export more robust in the near future.)
Again, thanks for your review -- it means a lot that writers are actively engaged in the making of this little app.
Simple, Clean and Quick
After spending years keeping .doc files or Trello boards — and never being able to find the ideas I half-remembered having, Thoughts is the note-taker I’ve been looking for. I love being able to set tags for multiple stories then assign the tags to an actual Piece! Note to the makers - highlight that in your description!
It’s hyperbole, but other than 26 letters and 14 punctuation marks, this app is my next important tool in creating my work! Thank you
