Cool idea, very basic app
I saw this app being promoted on Reddit, so I figured I should give it a try, since having a single place to track info about my transition sounds very helpful.
Once I downloaded the app and began trying to use it, I quickly realized that there just isn’t all that much to it. That’s not to say that it’s bad, I just think its usefulness may be a bit limited right now. As of this review, the app lets you upload pictures of your face and body separately (organized by the date they were taken), and allows you to make a list of “milestones” (However you want to define that, also organized by date). Again, what’s here is helpful, but currently it’s not much more involved than making an album of pictures to track your transition manually in your camera roll.
I would like to see some other trackable metrics implemented - maybe body measurements - with an ability to graph those metrics to visually compare them over time. It would also be nice to have a quick way to compare very early-transition pictures to current pictures side-by-side, I. order to see how far you’ve come. Maybe the app could automatically generate “timelines” for you by picking pictures from roughly every few months or so, and putting them all together? Maybe the app could also use how long you’ve been transitioning, and send you congratulations notifications whenever you get to new time milestones.
Also, I noticed a couple bugs: First, when I try to choose a date for a picture or milestone, the date-choosing popup will often close itself while I’m in the middle of scrolling through, and automatically choose the date it was currently on. That’s a bit annoying and causes me to have to reopen the popup several times in order to get the date value to the number I really want for it. Second, when inputting milestones, the date assigned to the milestone seems to always be one day behind the date chosen for them. This is a bit annoying and makes it difficult to assign milestones the right day.
Anyway, the app has a lot of potential, and isn’t bad for what it is right now, but I believe it could be a lot more.
Could’ve been great
This would really be a lovely little tool if it weren’t for one annoying flaw. The date seems to be stuck one day behind, and I cannot figure out how to change it. My system clock is accurate, but this morning (8/25) the app is convinced that it is still 8/24. This makes it very annoying to upload photos as I take them — and now that I’m transitioning, I’m actually taking a lot of photos! I hope there’s something that can be done to sort this bug out.
Love this app
I mainly use it on Android but wanted to see if it was also for Apple products. It is, and I still love it. Would be great if it saved and synced across devices. Would be very convenient using my Google account.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
