Love the game & Support Team BUT going broke!

I found this game while sick, depressed and having anxiety. It was amazing how much it helped me! I really can’t explain why it worked when so many other things did not. I even told my doctor! The graphics are great, the main game is engaging and there are side games and events that keep things busy and interesting. I have had many questions, some technical issues…and I have frequently written to Support. The Support Team is wonderful, caring and empathetic! Love them! I have never bought in app purchases in games before but slowly started in this game since it was really helping me. Aside from the game you are able to trade cards from the card albums with other players and I have had interactions with players in many foreign countries, now with a pen pal friendship with a player in Belize…I am in the USA. Anxiety is now a way of life in my country and so I find great escape and comfort playing Travel Town and look forward to playing every day. I am told some folks only use the free energy you can get to play but that has not been my experience. I justified my spending as it was good for my health and cheaper than more therapy…but I have spent so much now it is really embarrassing and not sustainable on my income! I wish the game was more affordable to play long term. It has been great but expensive!

LOVE THIS GAME

I’ve been wanting to write this review for awhile but I never write reviews, especially for games.
Anyway this game is awesome it’s very user friendly. It is one of very few games that you don’t have to spend any money on to progress, you just have to be patient. When I started playing the energy went up to 200 but even after it changed to 100 I didn’t feel cheated. The developers are VERY RESPONSIVE. Every Time I had an issue with the game they responded and I received compensation in the game for any glitches. I couldn’t believe it! Unfortunately I have to delete the game for personal reasons. (If the developers come up with a way to skip level 67 let me know!!)
I love the trading group! Communicating with people all over the world.. I use a translator so I can talk to them in their language, so fun!
It makes me sad reading comments on FB of people commiserating about a stupid little things. This game is fun and addictive just like it should be. I’m going to miss it but maybe I’ll start it again from the beginning! One note .. maybe this is just my experience but the last update seemed to make the images smaller Please Change It Back, smaller looks weird :-)

Used to like it a lot

Thie game started off really fun and I really enjoy it especially considering theres little to no ads interrupting everything. It takes so much time and energy now to actually accomplish anything and even if I use gems to replenish my energy half the time it gives me things I don't need. My board has become so full and overwhelming that I can barely tell what I have on it anymore. And random stacks of cookies now? What am I supposed to do with these? I have resorted to selling them which only gives me like 2 energy. Selling high quality items barely gives you anything. And im now stuck on trying to get enough coins and building materials. I'm pretty far along but thats because I give a lot of time between to build up energy. And also the daily challenges are near impossible, you would have you spend basically 24/7 on the game to get all of them considering it asks you to collect coins most of the time. I also hate the tile/pottery thing, takes so much energy to use it and it never gives you want you want. This game is based on luck now. Stop adding random stuff and cluttering everything. If we complete one of the producers and max everything out in it we should be able to put it away indefinitely so there's more space, allow easier daily tasks, make maxed out items worth more. And get rid of the useless items that build up.

Functionality Malfunction

This game is fun! I am an adult (even if I don’t like “adulting” sometimes) and I love to match up to fill orders and upgrade buildings, but every now and then recently, I get the option to play an ad to pop a bubble for a match piece to something, like I was trying to get the other half to the sewing station so I could make the Stitched Panel to complete another order, and the ad button didn’t work! It was a dud! I moved the bubble and it disappeared, leaving the bubble with only the option to spend gems to pop, and me with one less gem than what was required to pop! I’m not spending anymore money on this game, but I’ll make you all (the developers) some money by watching ads if the functionality always worked! To boot, the buttons at the bottom of my app didn’t work either, so I did a hard restart of the app to restore that functionality, but the ad button didn’t reappear. I’d give more stars, but don’t block me like that when it’s already hard enough at higher levels! I’m level 49, almost 50 and it is hard getting the stuff together to upgrade building and earn XP to level up! To bring it around, I might have gotten the money to get the next upgrade and earn enough XP, if only I’d have been able to watch an ad (which I despise but will watch to earn stuff) to get that second half of the sewing station!

Enjoyable

This game is fun and it has no ads unless you choose to watch adds for extra energy or to pop bubbles. I gave it 3 instead of 5 because some orders require more than 100 energy to complete and it takes days to finish unless you’re buying more energy. At first, there is the option to use diamonds for energy but it keeps increasing the price which seems kind of unfair. I am personally not a fan of the trading cards. I wish there was a way we can opt out of getting them “reward” and instead get more tool boxes/bags or energy. Or maybe I just don’t care about it because I am not connected to a community to trade. But besides that, its definitely enjoyable. I am glad they have a feature to remove the chats. I wasn’t in it for the story. I am only playing because I like matching the items and seeing what comes next. I will not that I am a fairly new player so I an still haven’t gotten past level 20 but I am starting to get a little burnt out over having to create items to create other items but rarely gives you the items you need so you have to recreate the item once it runs out. I’ve just been skipping those orders unless they offer tool boxes/bags since they’re the only way to advance certain levels.

Annoyed

The further along I get into this game, the longer I find myself just waiting. The board fills up with different items that make other items, then side items. Some create duplicate balloons you can pop by watching and ad or spending jewels. If you don’t want the balloon item, it’ll eventually pop and turn into coins usually. But it takes FOREVER for these bubbles to pop. I’ve waited about 2 minutes for one to pop because I had no more room on the board and needed to cash in the coins to create more space, but I had to wait. The orders keep getting more expensive and harder, but they hardly pay you out anything. Game inflation, man. So, so frustrating. I know I’m reaching the end of playing this game, because even to play it throughout the day, it’s almost impossible to do without spending REAL money, and I’ve spent way more on this game than I have any other game ever…. Because I had to in order to keep playing. If I don’t spend money, it’ll take almost a full day just to fill one order. So yeah, almost done with this unless the orders are a little bit more accessible to fill or the rewards were bigger for the GIANT order I just filled. Make the boards bigger too, as players get further in the game. Or the inventory. Idk. Just seems like I can’t be the only one feeling this way.

Great game - has flaws.

I would literally play this game all day long if it wasn't for the ridiculously fast rate at which you run out of energy and then everything is behind a pay wall or ads. I don't mind watching the ads but after 3, the option disappears and you're left with spending real money as your only option. For now, I'm game to wait until my energy refills and come back to play again but I keep wondering how long before I get annoyed enough to stop. I've spent some real money on the game but overall really try to avoid doing that so I feel I'll be done with it sooner than later.

I agree with some of the other reviews that talk about how difficult it becomes to make higher level items once you reach a certain level and how maxed out creator items rarely give you what you actually need. These two things lead to a very crowded and overwhelming board which makes it a little less fun and more anxiety-producing.

I think it's a great game and is definitely super fun and addicting but just wish I could play longer without running out of energy and/or having to spend actual money to play for more than 5min.

Don’t be a victim like me!!!!

It’s the first time to leave my review for the app. I agree with that this game is fun and addictive. I’ve been paying a small amount for playing a game, but im not willing to buy an item over twice per game or big items. That means that im really confident the transaction should be so obvious. First few times were good. At some point, the notifications for buying item transactions had become so strange. The bill showed two or three different transactions at the same time. I thought previous transaction can be included in the same bill. However, Im pretty sure it was wrong since I didn’t buy items sequentially in a short time. I claimed few days later it happened, but my claims were rejected.

Today, I tried to change my payment method on purpose with apple cash which has only $10 of balance. I attempted to buy one item of $7.99. It was denied BECAUSE they charged two transactions of $1.99 and $7.99 at the same time. So, the balance is not sufficient to pay both. Unluckily, you got the fraudulent transaction of $1.99 that I haven’t tried and received. Although I haven’t got the item for $7.99 that I was willing to buy, but I can catch the moment that my money was stolen. I have claimed the transactions that I got stolen so far. Hopefully today’s transaction would be a proof and helpful for the investigation.

Very cheaty

Update: developers do not listen to their players! It should not take 2 minutes to gain energy! This is ridiculous and a waste of time. It is a pay to play game 100%. There is absolutely no way to gain energy unless you’re paying real money. I’m deleting and never downloading again.

This game was fun the first three levels and then turned very cheaty very fast. It never gives you what you need. It takes forever to build up energy. There is absolutely zero way to earn energy unless you spend diamonds or real money. You can’t upgrade buildings without building material but you can’t get the material because you can’t get the items or even move the customers around. I’ve had the game for 2 days and it’s absolutely annoying that you can’t get anywhere in this game unless you spend money! Have you seen this economy??? No one is willing to spend their hard earn income on a game. Now if you gave us more ways to earn energy or did it like some other games where you can give others energy it would be great! Also why do you need WiFi with this game?? The only reason I gave 2 stars is because there are no adds. So thank you for that. But this game needs serious work with the players in mind. You could always go look at Royal match or Lilly’s garden for ways to improve the game. Thanks for reading.

Blue Gems!

Hello developers. Getting straight to the point. Either the recharge time needs to be lowered or give more opportunities to gain blue gems to buy energy. The shop is useless to me because i never have blue gems to spend. Why cant things in the shop be bought with smileys instead? Certain orders take entirely too long to fulfill. This drives you to have to try to merge other items in the meantime which quickly fills the board with items you cant sell because theyre needed. With each source at least give enough items to make half the order. Also when leveling up the energy level should rise. 100 is not alot of energy when your whole top row is a source object. The seashells and silverware takes forever!
In closing, dont take this as a negative review. Love the game and latest update. Not asking for a simplified game but more of a balance. I play daily every chance i get. But make it worth my effort . I shouldnt be merging for weeks to get one high level food item. Its pointless to use the whole 100 energy to try and get one high leveled food item thats still not completed after using the next 100 after waiting on a recharge. Work with me please. Im level 24 and only have 4 areas unlocked. Come on!
