I’ve tried several virtual treadmill apps, and this one is at the top of my list. The videography is amazing; the images are crisp and clear, and as a bonus, every trail I’ve seen happens to be on a beautiful day with an amazing sky, and the natural light filtering along the way really creates an authentic experience. I like the immersion with the way moving along the trail was filmed. If you’ve tried other apps, you may have noticed that how the camera is moving is not how you may be moving. Not the case here. It really is easy to be in the scene in a very realistic way, whether you’re walking or running. This even manages to be more realistic than some other apps that track your cadence and speed up if you speed up. You don’t need that here, it all works! You don’t need a monthly subscription, and what you buy you keep, all at a good price. Customer service is amazing. Do you want to do something for yourself that gives you a boost and makes life a bit more bearable during difficult times? Invest in a couple of treadmill trails. Someday you may want to visit these places yourself, but even if you don’t, this app is really the next best thing.

  • TAKE A WALK IN ANOTHER COUNTRY AND RELAX

    karldobermann

I have been to 20 different countries in the last year alone- Cambodia, Ireland, Spain, England, France, Australia, and on. Each video is well done- I have not suffered any lag time as some have on other apps. The scenery is amazing (especially the places I have never visited, like Asia). The cost for enjoying a walk (or you can run to the video as well and get “there” in half the time, unless you bought the hour vids which are only $1 more). It is a great distraction and you can listen to your own music while you are on a trail going to a beach, a landscape high over the islands of Hawaii- I like listening to easy jazz, sometimes classical or Christian (depending on artist, tempo, mood), country western and musical instruments only (like classical guitar, flute, or jazz Cello). If 30 minutes is not long enough take a longer hike for up to an hour through verdant flower gardens in Canada, the steppes of India, or the desert plains of Arizona, Nevada, and the flowering hills of Marin and Sonoma counties in California. Enjoy the walk- when any one asks why you didn’t answer the phone, tell them you just came back from Colorado.

  • The BEST!

    Whosailsme

In an effort to get moving during cold New England winters I recently bought a treadmill. These trails are inexpensive at $.99 for 30 minutes and $1.99 for a longer version. You own each purchase forever. The narrator is soothing and informative. He tells you to start slow and when to speed up and nearing the end when to start cooldown plus information about the trail you are on. Photography is wonderful. You do each one at your own pace as there is no camera watching you to speed or slow the film according to your pace which is okay to have but not critical. I found that one of the other programs had me running through a crowd which was in the middle of the film and off putting to say the least. I especially love the 60 minute Boston. So, in the end, I sometimes use the free version of one program and most of the time I use this one. Exploration is a must! I really appreciate the effort and time put into Treadmill Trails.

  • Stellar: both app and developer

    SproutHunterS

Vivid and breathtaking, well edited and a huge variety of touring the world. The developer is tour guide, coach and encourager “Lookin’ good”, “How ‘bout a sip?” and his voice enhances the experience. You’ll see. Even pans left & right on the trail as you might do normally. Rhythm w/ a hint of music keeps you motivated. Listen to both, just the music, or select your own from your library. You’ll need to rotate your video collection since you’ll own what you buy - it’ll be on your device. Easy to do: Remove or “Delete” which merely stores your purchase(s), and get more, then repeat, or bring back earlier purchases. One purchase enables viewing on all your capable devices, even if you get a new device. Watch your vids on your TV or double tap for full screen on your phone, iPad or Touch. The developer invites email and responds to it. Oh, BTW, the details of making this app super functional & have been well thought out and executed. I got this app before I got my treadmill and haven’t walked without it yet - don’t plan to. Helps you remember to breath deeply, stay aware, and get just what it is you need during your exercise time; really pump it, or not so much. With these vids, you’re almost there - maybe you’ll save money on travel by experiencing some dreams digitally. This defines what the “Best of” class is all about. Wat to go, DS! I’ll be using this for a long long time to come.

  • Treadmill Trails Audio is flexible and easy to control

    AustinIsWierdweird

Several audio options allow you to control content, presence and blend, so you can maintain your pace, be informed about site history, geographical features, and the trail guide’s personal experience running the trail. You control whether you use onboard audio, use your own music, or forgo audio altogether. Trail guide narrative can be bypassed. When foregoing narrative, you can choose between several different tunes. To implement multiple tunes, you are required to make a one-time purchase for each additional tune at a nominal price. Onboard audio music Is performed by drums and bass, which suits my personal taste nicely. Attributes of our planet’s evolution are described as fact, rather than theory, a description which I might personally question. But with most users, this distinction doesn’t arise.

  • Great Exercise App

    FlowerLady88

This is the the best app I’ve found for people like me who exercise on equipment like treadmills and stationary bikes! No, it doesn’t track my miles, calories, or resistance, but my stationary bike already does that. What it provides is great 30 or 60 minute trail videos in awesome locales like national parks, beaches, gardens, great cities, etc. all over America and even abroad. The videography is fantastic and I also appreciate the informative narration. If you don’t, you can replace the narration with your own music. Each video is only 99 cents and then you can watch it as many times as you like. I emailed the Developer because I found one faulty link in the Trail Store. Not only did he write back personally, but he fixed the link within hours! Best of all, this app actually makes me look forward to riding the stationary bike!

  • Loving this app

    JEMslp

What I love about the app is that there are so many different scenic trails to choose from, the videos are only 99 cents each and last for 30 minutes; a few are 60 minutes. All videos are in the most beautiful locations, many in our national parks. My exercise bike has a variety of workouts but they are only 30 minutes each so this is the perfect app for me. This is so much cheaper than buying a subscription. I find the trails highly motivating. You can listen to the music provided with occasional motivational suggestion throughout or you can use your own music. They trails appear to be filmed early in the morning so you are never interrupted by having to go around other people. You have the trail all to yourself and the narrator.

  • The Perfect Ap to Stay Motivated!

    Octane Runner

Over the years I have tried several exercise videos applications.Treadmills Trails has been my go - to training Ap because of the variety of fantastic trails in beautiful locations and the periodic motivating suggestions. Sometimes it is harder to get motivated to slug out a few miles on my equipment (Octane ZR 8 and Octane xR6xi) but as I scroll through my choices of “running” through Big Sur in California, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, hills in Spain or wherever, it helps to escape for a half hour or so to a grand vacation spot! The variety of trails is terrific with new ones added regularly throughout the year to keep me motivated to “touring” exciting places and getting important exercise while doing it.The perfect motivator!

  • Human not hamster

    AlpineLaurel

I really liked this app! It is well paced for my treadmill walk and makes it much easier! I didn’t feel like a hamster on a wheel. I felt like a human being enjoying the beauty of the world in which we live! ♥️ I stopped using it because the trails were always changing. I like a full trail without interruption. But the developers helped me get back in after some months of not using and assure me there are “over 150 continuous trails.” —-I’m interested to buy access to them. —don’t know how to tell which ones these are.—I really, really like how the product is sold, too at one’s own pace, buying a new trail as one desires, to use as one can.

    Developer Response

Thank you very much for being my customer and for your 5-star review. All Treadmill Trails videos are made by and for humans in the most beautiful places humans can walk and run. For trail video selection, the best advice I can give: take 30 seconds to watch the Preview for each trail that looks interesting to you. I try to make them very representative so you'll know what to expect. Other than that, it's only the "greatest hits"-type trail videos that actually hop around from one location to very different ones. For example, "America's Best: The National Parks" includes trails in Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Glacier and Arches. Of course, most of the actual trails I shoot are quite long so there will always be edits; I choose to include the most scenic and interesting sections of each of those trails. Thanks again. And Happy trails!

  • LOVE this app!

    Treadmill girl 4

I LOVE this app!! Love the varied selection of videos available. I usually watch TV on the treadmill, but these videos are WONDERFUL taking you outside to enjoy the world. Today is a rainy day, and I am walking on the beaches of Hawaii. And I also enjoy the narrative that comes with the videos. Tells you something about the area you are "hiking", and encouraging you to pick up the pace and drink water. And Ladies, he has a sexy voice!! I had actually signed up for Ifit on my treadmill, but found it was going to take more time that I wanted to set it up and do my routes, when all I wanted was a video of hiking trails and nature. Very quick and inexpensive to download videos of where you want to walk in the world!
