What’s New
Version 2.1.0
With automatic updates, I wonder how many people actually get to see what's new in the app. It seems a pity that it just gets overlooked after all the hard work that went into it. But for those few who take it as seriously as we do, I will endeavour to write the greatest prose of an app update as possible... or at least more than just saying bug fixes.
Those happened too, but there was a lot more.
Anyway, in case you missed the last update, Tribe is back! Just like load shedding when everyone refused to mention it in case they jinxed it—but unlike that, us being back is actually good, not like load shedding. In fact, forget I said anything about loadsh*dding.
So now we are Stage 3 of the app. (Sorry, couldn't help myself.)
What's New?
We added something very cool: Brand Stories. Think of it as your favourite shopping app meets Instagram. It's a way for you to see some of the cool things the brands you love are doing—all in one place. Because, honestly, who really uses Instagram and TikTok to check the latest specials at Pick n Pay? (They go there for the Rick Ross beats, obviously... no?) You can also filter this to just your brands.
Why did we add this? Well, just like how you started noticing your favourite Eskom-se * app sending you notifications about your area (Seriously no shade, Dan. I get it!), we also need to keep the product adapting to our users' needs.
More New Features
You can now add multiple cards for the same brand.
I respect all of you who were creating custom cards for each person—now you can tell the youth how hard you had it before this update.
Better barcode support.
Whether it's a QR code (like Starbucks) or a Barcode 128 (that's what the cool kids call it) like your Clicks Club Card, it will be automatically detected in image uploads (so grab those Stocard screenshots before your cards vanish!) or camera scanning.
A new splash screen!
It’s not much, but one-too-many coffees were had, and that's what usually happens—more coding.
A bunch of other little things were also improved, most of which make the app more efficient in being your best shopping companion.
While we continue to add features to improve your experience, if you see value in the app, we would LOOOOOOVE it if you could spread the word and share the app with people you know (or don't—wouldn't hurt to make more friends) so that we can grow.
